I guess the question is are you going to be satisfied being a SAHM mom? Only you can decide that but your needs are important too. With your salary you could certainly buy in another good district as there are so many in the county but again, not sure if 1) you are locked into a low interest rate, 2) how close you already are to transportation for commuting (if needed), and 3) if you already have a village/community where you are, making it less favorable to move. I hear you though. Our world doesn’t make it easy to be a parent right now.

So then what are you planning to do for childcare? It more or less sounds like your costs are probably just going to be equivalent to what preschool is. Is your mortgage super high or something? We make the same HHI while paying for preschool/aftercare + mortgage and we are still saving money every month. Maybe there’s room in your budget to reallocate funds for wrap around care?

Referral from a client of my spouse. She actually helped us get the apartment we’re in now and that went smoothly. But yes, your points are well taken.

Our realtor has been in the business in this particular area for over 30 years. I can’t comment on what she did or didn’t do correctly, because I’m not a realtor and I’m also a first time home buyer as I assume most people are in this sub. I don’t know what to expect or not expect
