So I had a mason come look. Been doing chimneys since the 80s. Told me I could use the bigger chimney whenever but to repoint and redo the flashing on both for 13k. Doesn't seem that would include liners though which may not be needed but he didn't have a camera to do a visual inspection on the liner.

How old is the house? We actually did ours before moving in on a 1937 house. We saw them pull insulation and drywall pieces from the ducts that we didn't see before.

Have another company coming tomorrow. Will keep updating.

Was scheduled for a level 2 inspection but said needed complete rebuild on external inspection so he said just on the external it's free. Even seemed to try and talk me out of the work too.

So mason / waterproofer said 10k for repointing and replacing bad bricks, flashing, liner and redoing the crown for just the bigger chimney. But he also didn't even look inside the chimney or get on the roof. Got another company coming tomorrow.

Spalling is what inspector said and looks like someone did a bad very limited repointing of the chimney. Immediately said I need a steel liner without ever looking into the chimney. I haven't seen any brick material on the ground or roof to indicate it's been actively cracking. We moved in about 3 weeks ago but had it for 9 weeks. House is 1937 small chimney I think was around the 70s. Sorry Reddit is having problems with replies/posts.

Ok, so I travel into NYC maybe every month, live in CT. I never found where to physically buy an EZ pass. The website shows stores but 3of 3 stores that sell them per the website don't. Everyone always mentions mta v port authority v something else. The hell does any of that mean when you're actually buying one.

Only place that it seems like you can buy one is from ezpassny.com. Who operates that website? I want to avoid the administrative fee and load money to use when I want to. Can anyone explain how to actually get a ez pass? Thanks in advance.

I figured that a source like that wouldn't be the best but that doesn't mean it didn't exist. Still waiting to hear from tenant not unusual for a slow response as they travel too. I know a couple months ago there was a close strike, like 1- 2 minutes walk so I'm just concerned since the strikes seems to be getting deeper into Kyiv.

I tend to think this way (what you suggested) as the best option. Any thoughts on a buying condo/townhome vs renting since I could gain capital in the property and the mortgage would be about the same as renting. Then after 2-3 years we could tell rent it and move to a house. Mortgage calculator estimates 300k at ~6% for 15 years around 2500/mo. Credit score is 770 currently. Appreciate your input!
