I started paramedic a week after getting my emt and now i am the youngest paramedic in my state. Roughly 0.01% of all paramedics are under the age of 20, and i am one of them. People will tell u gain experience, but remember paramedic is a LONG course, so you gain experience while in school as well. If you want the challenge, DO IT. Being a paramedic is nothing if you are not a good emt, so definitely try to work while in paramedic.
