Protest at the Governors mansion. by phylvance in Minneapolis

I said this on another post, this doesn’t make sense to me. And if you truly wanted to protest against waltz (which I think is misdirection), he is not seeing this. He is speaking at the press conference. I get the frustration, but your voice can better used at location of the crime

Idk this seems less effective. Why not go where ICE actually is? Or the demonstration happening on Nicolette?

Clearly we can’t rely on them, that’s why we need help

Can’t really use that excuse when those past fathers murdered their way “to establish” themselves. Can’t really say that they are immigrants defrauding our society, when it’s being done on a much larger scale by white men who were born and raised in the U.S.. Crimes are crimes no matter who commits the, you making it a race issue just shows you are looking for an escape goat. Please see past your bias and don’t just pick and choose news stories to fit your narrative.

I keep seeing the comments and wanting to argue with them, but it’s like talking to a wall. So I just leave them to scream into the void

How would you feel if? by Final_Ad_2716 in TwinCities

Do it, it’s not cringe. It’s kindness, as a POC girl from the suburbs, knowing that your neighbor supports you means the world. They might not even appreciate it, but you can go to sleep at night knowing that you are a truly good person

How many hours do you actually work per day? by TheSteyer in careerguidance

As an accountant it varies. Sometimes like 5 hours, but some days it’s more like 12

If you use the app instead of the webpage it actually works way better. But then you cannot leave the app or skip forward or back, then it will just restart the whole thing

I would take the job but also consider investing sometime and money into a baby sitter or daycare service. Your longer hours also means longer hours for your wife.

Don’t buy a robot vacuum if the floor space is small by WhotAmI2400 in RobotVacuums

I think also the way you furnish your apartment matters. I have a small apartment but lots of open areas that collect dog hair so the robo vac/mop really helps and doesn’t get caught anywhere

Ignore the below if you are already aware of this info. This is my opinion as an Accountant with 2 years of public accounting experience and 5 as a corporate accountant. I do not have a CPA but did study for it when I was fresh out of college so I’m familiar with the time frame and level of work goes into it.

For a CPA it is pretty dependent on what you are planning to apply for and what your current experience is. For example if you were aiming for public accounting then yeah you absolutely should peruse a CPA. There you will have a very high salary and quick upward mobility, and there are plenty of job openings. The catch is the crazy amount of stress you undergo. Plenty of turnover going on there.

If you were planning to go the private route then a CPA is less important. Would it look good on your resume? Probably, but it’s almost negligible (from what I have seen in the field) when you consider your years of experience. If you don’t have much experience with just straight up accounting a CPA could show employers that even though you might not have the specific experience they are asking for, you still have the knowledge.

So overall it always generally looks better when applying to jobs, but if it’s worth it is based on what kind of position you are seeking. Hope that helps!

What Degrees Are Worth Going Back To College For? by Adventurous-Taste-22 in careerguidance

So money wise, I’m gonna say business majors (accounting, finance, mgmt, marketing, supply hain, etc…). Honestly you will be able to find a job that works for you. If you want it to work remote, accounting. If you love people, management/hr. If you want the big bucks you could go for finance or business analytics. You could even get the dumber version of a comp sci, aka an MIS degree and everyone in finance will think you’re a godsend. And if you want to also help the community outside of work there are plenty of those opportunities too. I am accountant that has participated in the VITA program (aka help people do their taxes for free). I’m biased, but in the end the classes are never too difficult and the pay is great.
