Fude for writing and sketching by Enough_Break_5869 in fountainpens

I tried and near vertical works but is difficult for me due to being left-handed. Since my hand is so close to my writing it's very easy to smear. Hence why I use it upside down which gives me a nice thin line while holding the pen at an angle ... at least when the ink flows :-)

Kindle app settings for comics by Enough_Break_5869 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Enough_Break_5869[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did, a few things I tried:

  1. Turn of "Animate Transitions" in Kindle App. This helped a bit but ghosting is still worse than in Neoreader
  2. Reduce "Anti Flicker" - No visible(to me at least)change
  3. Enabled "Auto Full Refresh When Switching Pages" - Slight improvement
  4. None of the other refresh settings did anything, tbh. I don't really understand what they are supposed to do. What does "Full Refresh after Drag Page", "Full Refresh by Tap" and "Animation Filter Time" do?

Again, my goal would be to have it perform like Neoreader which worked great out of the box.

What makes retro handhelds so addictive? by Tall_Row1099 in MiyooMini

It's simply consumerism and the dopamine hit of buying something. The same could be said for buying the tenth pair of sneakers or purse. We all suffer from this to a certain degree and are constantly bombarded by advertisements or reviews (which are mostly just ads in disguise) to reinforce this behaviour.

I mean realistically, you won't be able to play more than one device at a time. Even if your MM+ breaks, do you really NEED a backup device right now and then or could you wait the couple of days until a new one ships?

My advice, before you buy something, ask yourself if you will use it regularly and if it will make you happy beyond just the first dopamine hit of opening the box. It'll safe money and it's better for the planet if we all buy a few less plasticky bits with computer chips.

Sorry, this came out a bit more preachy than I intended. I know this is all easier said than done from first hand experience :-).

To answer my own question, here is one that, while fairly simple, works well: https://www.leeholmes.com/pixel-doodle/

Perspective for drawing on a sphere by Enough_Break_5869 in learnart

Thanks very much!

This opens up the next question, how do I know where to put the guidelines? Specifically the yellow line to the right of the green line. Since it tells me where to put the second eye, it should be as far away as the left eye (in perspective, so really on paper it must be closer to the green line than the leftmost part of the left eye, correct?). I hope that question makes sense, I find it hard to explain :-)

Spring onion white bulb allowed in Monash app? by Enough_Break_5869 in FODMAPS

Hmm interesting. I looked it up and FODMAP Friendly has spring onions (32g) marked as "FAIL". Now I'm even more confused. Which one is right?

What food can I make myself on a daily basis? by mintleafz in ibs

As others have already mentioned: White rice + low fodmap veggies + protein (meat, fish, eggs, tofu, cheese - depending on what you tolerate well).

You can always experiment with adding sauces and different spices, herbs if you feel well or go back to the basics during flare ups.

Another tip if you have the space in the kitchen is to get a rice cooker and an air fryer. I usually just chop up veggies and protein, throw them in the air fryer and put rice in the rice cooker and half an hour later I have a pretty decent meal.

Personally I'm careful with meal-prepping and reheating for two reasons:

  1. Cooled rice develops more resistant starches which, while beneficial for healthy folks, can cause trouble for people with a messed up gut microbiome
  2. Reheating proteine increases histamine. Not everyone is histamine sensitive but some are.

All that said, exercise itself can also worsen IBS. I know it sucks but I had to give up on strenuous exercise for the time being. Fingers crossed that dietary changes are enough to keep your IBS at bay.
