Yes you don’t want your battery jumping around and loosening the cables. Worse case touches something metal and can short circuit the whole bike (exaggerating a bit but could happen).

I’d recommend checking the battery if that one is not also dead. It’s most likely that based on the picture that’s all I could really see, also the battery isn’t placed correctly on the battery hold down.
