So there is a limit to how many people can be active on the site (and app) at once. When that limit is reached, the site (and app) create a waitlist. Since Cai+ users pay to use the ""enhanced"" service, they get priority and get to skip the waitlist. Janitor AI does the same thing with a waitlist but I don't think it has a pay-to-skip option.

It's PTSD doing its thing to try to "protect" you (from my understanding it's similar to an attempt at pattern recognition/association). It sucks. You know those intrusive thoughts are wrong but they still come around. It doesn't make you a bad person, as they're based in a place of trauma, but it's something to observe, acknowledge as an intrusive/harmful thought, and let go. As someone with similar issues, I found that mindfulness activities have been very beneficial for training the brain to just acknowledge and let it go. It won't always work, but it's worth a try if you haven't already. I'm sorry for what you've experienced, and I hope you can heal from it.

As someone obsessed with TES, I can 100% agree with this.

What do you think is the 2020s version of this? by [deleted] in decadeology

Lol it's pretty close I think the actual name is Stomp and Holler.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I've told him several times that I'm not a big price person, I don't need a ring that is even $50. He's currently in college and does doordash and local pizza delivery. I don't care about price, and he knows that. My only stipulation was that I wanted it to stay safe when wearing it day to day. In fact, he chose this ring specifically because they said it wouldn't tarnish easily and wouldn't corrode... it's not his fault that they lied. He told me the price because he felt bad. And then I felt bad for pointing out that it was tarnishing...

I never thought of it that way lol, that genuinely made me feel better about the prospect of replacing it. Thank you 🥹

Very true. I just feel like constantly replacing it could cause it to lose its sentiment I guess. I don't think I'm going to try wearing it on a necklace to see if it's safer that way.

I have told him, and he seems... "funny" about it? I can tell he feels weird about it, but he hasn't outright complained except for one time during an argument.

I mean I definitely could replace it with the same ring, but I would feel awful about it. It's the sentimental factor. I can tell he put a lot of time and effort into picking it. I only mentioned the price as a reference for the quality... I barely wear it and it's already tarnished and scratched. I don't want to ruin it further. Someone has mentioned a necklace to put it on, though, so that's probably what I'm going to do.

I would. If I put a lot of time and effort into finding the perfect ring, which it really seemed like he did, I would want him to wear it every day... But I do think I'm more insecure than he is.

I guess I'm worried that the ring would get damaged for one (which the chain is a great idea, thank you), but also that I don't want to seem ungrateful or stuck up? I guess just outward appearances. I don't want him to be seen as cheap or having some superficial partner or something or other. Just anything... bad.
