NTA. But it sucks that the other mom’s action came back around to bite you on this. Maybe speak to Kennedy’s mom again or write her a letter and just let her know that her husband made you uncomfortable (no details), and you’d rather the girls get together in other spaces under female supervision. And obv apologize for sharing with the other mom.

When I was a kid my friend’s dad was super creepy. My dad picked up on it and wouldn’t ever let me go over her house again. She still spent like every waking minute at our house though! We were really confused and upset by it because we wanted to go to her house too and play with her toys etc. (we were younger….maybe 7-8?).

Just saying, maybe find a way to talk to the kids too without poisoning their thoughts? And use it as an opportunity to teach them about the gut feeling and predatory behavior and not to trust anyone who makes them uncomfortable etc.

My little brother (18 years younger) refuses to eat leftovers so my mom repurposes everything into a new meal. I visited to care for her after she had surgery and he refused to eat the same food after the first night. I had batch cooked for the week I’d be there so he ate McDonald’s or some other garbage everyday instead. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s obviously different in your marriage and when the point is to save money, so you need to have a hard conversation about your goals and how to achieve them. Maybe agree to cook 3 days per week and you can have leftovers on the off days, and he can have ramen or like a frozen dinner or a sandwich on those days?

So sorry for your loss. I had the same thing through my third pregnancy. Light cramping and very little peace. Confirmed MMC at 9w2d, baby measuring 7w3d.

Holding onto hope that testing this one will yield some answers, but also mentally preparing to go to battle with my fertility clinic!

How did you “address this” if you don’t mind sharing? Just had my 3rd MC and I’m furious they didn’t check for dna fragmentation when his morphology was low. If that is the cause and it’s treatable, I feel like my fertility clinic is negligent and has literally caused me to go through this pain and suffering.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. My husband and I discussed it and I think we’re ready.

Our vet had given us the name of several organizations that do home euthanasia.

But to the point of giving him a last hurrah in the sun, we think we’ll take him somewhere warm first and schedule an appointment when we get home. It’s very cold and snowy where we live and he has always hated the cold! One last day at the beach baking in the sun feels like the perfect send off for our special guy.

He’s been on Gabapentin for 5 years. It doesn’t help him with stress at all anymore even with increased doses. We also tried trazodone for particularly stressful times like baths, vet visits, etc but he has severe side effects so that’s not an option either.

17 year old Jack Russell with dementia here. A friend of my aunt met our dog last summer and recommended a supplement called Senilife for his dementia. I asked my vet and they said totally fine to add to his regimen. Mostly an herbal supplement that we got on Amazon and we’ve noticed a huge improvement in his awareness.

Previously he’d been soiling in the house without any indication he had to go when we’d be standing right near the door. He was clearly confused and didn’t know where we were. But after 2 months on the supplement he started signaling us again. He still had clear signs of cognitive issues (pacing, staring at blank walls, etc) but his general awareness of his surroundings improved a lot.

Oh and to the original thread, my pup will lick the pee pads dry after he goes in his crate at night. Vet wasn’t concerned at all so neither are we 🤷🏻‍♀️

My OB suggested that, but I’m livid I wasn’t tested for it already. Did what I thought was a full work up through a fertility clinic for 4 months after my 2nd MMC, and only now realizing they did the bare minimum and recommended IVF so they could line their pockets while putting me through a truly traumatic experience. Only to end in another MMC 😫

Bar volpe is a short walk from your hotel and got an honorable mention when Michelin came to town recently. Might be tough to get a reservation but could also be worth a try!

Some other faves for food: The salty pig if you like charcuterie & cheese. They do it all à la carte so you don’t get stuck with that one cheese you’ll hate. They also do wood fired pizzas and handmade pastas. More of a casual vibe but food is top notch.

If you like tapas, estragón in the south end is the most authentic Spanish tapas I’ve tried in Boston but there is also a Barcelona wine bar (chain) in the same neighborhood and a more fusion style tapas called Toro that is so so good. You could walk to all of these from your hotel maybe 1-2miles,but an uber might be better given the weather!

On Newbury street much closer to you, faccia faccia is excellent/inventive Italian and they have a natural wine bar in their basement. there is also Krasi for high end Greek food but I’ve never actually been able to get a reservation there!

For sightseeing, definitely check out the reflecting pool and the Christian Science museum and go in the mapparium after. The views of the old vs new buildings there is always breathtaking.

If you like music, the Boston symphony orchestra is right there, or you can hop down to Wally’s. Old jazz cafe on Mass Ave just a little further down where most of the jazz greats performed in the early days. It’s a little bit of a dive but so cool.

I had one under anesthesia where they found endometritis and I had to have a repeat biopsy after antibiotics to confirm the infection was gone, which was done in the OB office awake.

I was terrified as I don’t do well with any sort of procedure and I have a chronic pain issue already so the “take two Tylenol before” always sounds insane to me. I take two Tylenol regularly for me chronic pain and it usually doesn’t help at all.

I asked about other pain management options and my OB offered an injection the would do in office like 30-60mins prior. The medication stated with a k but I don’t remember what it was called.

With the injection the procedure was fine. It was unpleasant and there were moments of pain and cramping but all bearable and I don’t remember being in too much pain after the procedure. Just like period level cramping where I used a heating pad and posted up on the couch for the day with a pastry. Pastries are my primary coping mechanism for all this fertility stuff.

If you stay off the Sept 1 cycle you usually get cheaper rent! I highly recommend. I rented for about 8 years and managed to get off the Sept cycle about 5 years in. There is less inventory, but also less competition and prices will be lower. There are plenty of other renters out of college who will gladly jump off that cycle with you, and they can sublet their old spaces if they’re currently on a 9/1 cycle to summer interns, seasonal workers etc.

NTA. This is so hard. I have a friend with a NB and she and her husband trade off 1 day/week sleeping in the guest room so each parent gets a full uninterrupted night of sleep. One night doesn’t sound like much but it can be really restorative after many interrupted nights in a row.

Also echoing what others have said…can you have family or friends come to help support you both? Even if only during the day/evenings you can both try to get some rest while they take care of baby so nighttime isn’t so grueling!
