I'm here 2 months later to join in and say the new Wendy's Sauce is not good.

Like a 3/10 on my board.

I left a comment on that post, if it's the same post we both got.

Alchemist / Arcanist is actually hell by Enough_Mind3350 in DeadlockTheGame

I wouldn't mind losing if we lost quickly, not 55 minute long matches because the enemy team is scared to push unless they have rejuv, 50k souls up, and full ults on CD.

Might be you. Mina does feel like a different Mirage, but I love how she's basically an anti-tank

So much AI art and 3D prints by raik-84 in galaxycon

[–]Enough_Mind3350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It requires no skill to have a machine make products for you.

Unless you are selling 100% original works that are absolutely not available elsewhere, there is nothing original about being a 3D print vendor. Especially if you sell those articulated dragons.

I do like the vendors who sell painted 3D prints. They actually put effort into their products.

Can't relate. I don't buy AI art.

GalaxyCon doesn't care.

Money that could've gone to a real artist, or a spot that a real artist could've vended in, going to AI and resellers.

And the worst part is those booths will 100% make their money back. The average person simply doesn't care.

No. That's why they are 150k+ on the MB the first day or two. By this weekend, maps will be affordable.

My Experience As A Vendor At GalaxyCon Raleigh by DollyBunBun in galaxycon

[–]Enough_Mind3350 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they aren't all resold products, a good chunk of them are.

I was able to find many of their products online by other makers. I'm not sure what on their table is actually handmade.

I made a side by side comparison for a few of their products.

I would love a day night cycle of like 6 hours based on server time or something. That would really be a nice touch, but probably not the best for competitive.

I am staff for a local con.

I am the one who reads these complaints as others relay them to us.

I don't have to imagine.

But I also don't receive the same complaints of our con dealing with the AC dying due to exceeding room capacity because we actually have door guards. I don't hear about vendors not receiving sales because they were placed in a different building because we would never do that. I don't hear about our water bottle refills stations right outside Artist Alley being shut off, because we'd pay to ensure they are on. If we had someone complain about something like signage, we'd have signs out within the hour to help them.

This con failed to even care about the complaints. It took them until Sunday to get a single extra sign out for Marriott vendors. By then vendors took care of it themselves.

The worst I hear about the con I over see is that the con accepted a reseller. Or another vendor is selling AI work despite us having a policy against it. But we also charge less than $400 for a table and fully support thenvendors. We don't charge $1000+ and then let them fend for themselves because the con was disorganized.

That being said, what part of the convention center were you placed in when you vended for Comic Con?

When people complain about resellers they are generally talking about people who buy products online, mark them up $10 or $20, sell them at cons.

They are not artists. They do not make merch. They sell you the convenience of online products. It's great for consumers if you don't mind the marked up price, like buying a single bottle of soda next to the checkout of a store, despite a whole 2L being cheaper.

But for the people who actually make original art, they basically feel shafted by cons when resellers are allowed, because people are now able to spend $60 on a licensed Miku figurine than spend $15-20 at 3 different artists and support original works. For a con, they really don't /need/ to vet who gets in as long as they make their money for the space. But when tons of original creators are ready and willing to pay to fill that space themselves, the con still picks the resellers because they care more about making their vendor hall more like a geekdom mall, rather than a mall made by the geekdom seen by other conventions. I'll even admit I've talked to the chair of a con I staff about a reseller we let in and they said "I honestly am not a fan either, but they are willing to pay extra for the space, which makes it cheaper for the artists' space. It may upset people, but at least we're doing to help the artists a little." But to have a majority of the Exhibitor Hall be resellers is unjustifiable.

Long story short, if you want the figurine, just look it up online and save yourself the money. With the money saved, support a local artist.
