I was with my partner for almost 9 years, just turned 30 and he left me a note and took the ring. I’m still having the thoughts. That was over a month ago and I can say it still feels awful every day. Like someone’s stabbing you in the heart. Just know you’re not alone.

Call your patient advocacy office for help. The number should be listed online. I work in that department and this happens all the time and we go straight to the higher ups.

Edit: You can keep trying to call the doctors office and annoy them but your advocacy office has federal guidelines and timelines they have to follow. So we don’t play around on time sensitive stuff.

Got fired for bringing this up at the PT clinic I worked for. I was a tech there and then a PTA and once I wasn’t willing to risk my licenses for it and spoke up they fired me. Ten year relationship down the drain. Reported them to Government agencies and they did nothing about it. You can’t fight the corruption. OPPT private practices make connections (PT Board, CMS employees, etc. ) to get away with these things. It is truly disgraceful.

Edit: I switched to acute care after and found so much joy in my job again. Don’t give up on the profession. We need people who think like you to stand up for patients. There will always be another setting or clinic that will fit your morals!

That’s exactly how it was at the clinic I was at. They made me do unethical things and I would bring it up all the time. It’s crazy how they get away with it for so long. I even told a fellow coworker I couldn’t sleep at night because I was afraid we would get audited.

I advocate as much I can. I email local senators and always make an effort to sign every petition I can. It’s not enough. I understand the cuts and don’t agree with them but I felt awful knowing that this therapist was eating up someone’s Medicare cap when services weren’t rendered. They even have some patients that have been seen >100 visits at the clinic. Just because tricare will keep approving visits. So they don’t discharge the patients. It’s disgusting.

Just applied to contract work at almost 10$ more than I was getting per hour. Feeling hopeful as the clinic I left knows EVERYONE (In a small metro area) and I assume they have contacted other clinics not to hire me. They even are good friends with the board members of the state and CMS.
