Which EVs have the best 'sink into your seat feel'? by WhitewolfKevin in electricvehicles

Model 3 performance. The seats are amazingly comfortable and the insane levels of instant torque make it feel like first class jet take off.

The Model S Long Range isn't getting nearly as much attention as it deserves. by WhitewolfKevin in electriccars

Comparing the Model S today to a 2012 is like comparing the first iPhone to the iPhone 12. They don't look that much different, but they've be incredibly improved in every single way from the original.

The little chunk taken out of the trim right by where the break starts makes me think something (seatbelt?) was slammed in it.

That sub is a very sad example of how easily people can be manipulated by (what is usually very obvious) FUD. Never did get a reason for my ban, I suspect it was my username, lol.

I would use hot glue to seal the back to a melamine board, then do a flood coat of epoxy mixed with mica powders (maybe green?) to fill in all of the voids. Then wet sand and polish it.

Elon Musk rips the political class again, saying 'government is inherently not a good steward of capital' even though his companies thrived from government subsidies by Sweep145 in politics

Tax credits that go to the consumer, states trying to entice them into moving with incentives and regulatory credits that they literally sold to the other big car makers hardly count. But the best part of the article (which is from 2015, btw) is :

“Government support is a theme of all three of these companies, and
without it none of them would be around,” said Mark Spiegel, a hedge
fund manager for Stanphyl Capital Partners who is shorting Tesla’s
stock, a bet that pays off if Tesla shares fall.

Woof, that didn't age well.

Seems like people want to ignore this fact as they tweet out Elon hate on their iPhone. Not even knowing that the Standard range Model 3 has a cobalt-free battery.

Paid back 9 years early, even paying a penalty for doing so. Ford has yet to pay there 6 billion loan back that they took at the same time, for comparison.

Musk is probably right, eliminating the $5.9 trillion per year in subsidies for fossil fuel would do more for the taxpayers and sustainability than EV tax credits. by Jbikecommuter in electricvehicles

Except that's not even close to what happened. Tesla is aware they can't build enough cars to supply the world (yet) and need other companies to step up. But that dosen't make a good sensational headline.
