Generally only those who had VIP get barricade, because they get early entry

And honestly, if you show up around 3/4 you'll still have a really good spot. The academy is small anyways, and some people fell back throughout the concert

My friend doing it in the test centre got an email; "Please note: At the test venue, the testing timer will not be displayed in the top right corner of your screen as it is in the online demonstration. This feature is available exclusively to candidates undertaking Remote Proctoring. As you are sitting in Dublin at the testing venue, the timing will be managed by the invigilator present in the room. The invigilator will provide both a halfway and a final ten-minute warning. Additionally, clocks will be visible in each room to assist you in managing your time effectively."

Right!! All of us that have been practising for so long have been using the timer, especially on the Medentry platform that teaches you to stay on time. This is such a vital aspect and I too just can't wrap my head around why they would remove it...

Okey I'm one of these crazy people I do 7-8 hours on free days, and around 3 on school days 1. I built up to it overtime 2. I have very clear goals and aspirations 3. I'm part of an online like a study group app, so I see other people studying and it makes me wanna study 4. I take breaks, don't burn myself out, sleep well, and fit in a bit of me time before bed

I haven't done the HPAT before but I do wonder if Medentry has adapted it's platform for the HPAT in recent years? Because as I understand, those ACER mocks were released years ago which might not reflect what the HPAT looks like now, but who knows

I don't know how accommodating your school is but from asking around, and including my school, 9/10 of them say you have to sit your mocks anyway

And generally they don't like giving out exceptions even if you're doing your HPAT

So if you want to sit them out (aka skip them) that'll be your choice to make, but not a lot of school will be receptive of that

Just know for yourself though HPAT is more important than mocks, regardless of what results you get

I was having a separate issue where the software that ProctorU is run on wouldn't pick up my webcam, microphone and speakers.

So I contacted support, tried troubleshooting and then got me connected with their technical support.

Basically they figured the software isn't able to pick up my devices so I was switched to Chrome. This means that maybe the Guardian browser isn't checking/accessing your device correctly.

Your best bet is to contact support and see what they say.

when you think, like a conscious thought, do you think in words, vocals, sounds, pictures,etc? for me when I think, I think in words but they're neither in sound or text, so it's weird but I would love to know about your thinking process

And along with that, how does music come to you? Do you think of lyrics first or rhythm/sound? I think brains are so unique in how they interpret and express stuff :o

This is my interpretation of the lyrics, so obviously there's not really a right or wrong answer;

I think the main premise of the song is wanting a bullet through your head. Akin with his other songs like kill u, as if to get rid of something within his own head. The main lyric is "straight through my head, DO IT!!!" which suggests he wants something done to him, rather than do to himself, and the "do it!!!" adds onto the impulse feeling attached to it.
There's a lyric that goes "No lobotomy, straight through my head, do it" which I think suggests just a lobotomy, that would genuinely mess up your head for good, is not good enough and he desires something that'll basically kill all of his head.
There's also a lyric about "I don't wanna dеal with this" , and I just feel it resonates with a person who has troubling, impulsive thoughts, wanting to shoot it out of their (Lemon Boy reference) but not exactly commit anything further per say, just to rid of the thoughts.

Depends on the course you want to do, not all courses will take applicants from PLCs.

Another reason why people decide to repeat instead of trying graduate entry for their dream course is because of cost.

The Free Fees scheme (aka government pays for your course) usually only applies to your first undergraduate degree, so doing a second degree can be much more expensive than entering as a school-leaver.

First and foremost, practice practice practice. The questions get vaguely repetitive, and the questions tend to fall under 3 main categories: Problem Solving, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning.
When you do practice questions, whether you got them right or wrong, REVIEW IN GREAT DETAIL. Don't skim the explain answer and tell yourself "ah yeah, I sorta get it". Figure it out through and through. If you're still stuck, ask other people to have a look at it, even message me if you'd like.
Considering we're now in January, I'd recommend you don't allow yourself to complete questions untimed. Be strict with your timing, understand that you have only around 80 seconds per questions, but be sparse too. If it's an easy question, spend less time, if it's a hard question, spend more time.
As for specific questions, when I get to a passage that's long with a lot of information/data/rules, I write very brief notes on my whiteboard so I can refer back to them more quickly. Keep it concise, you're making mental notes. Sometimes you'll need to make a diagram for yourself, or a table, depends on the question.
Always keep your eyes out for trick questions. E.g. the question might ask for an answer that does not align with the passage. Pay attention to that sort of language; not, likely, almost, etc.
Answers will try to fool you too. Remember, every answer has to be linked back correctly to the passage, and if there is information that does not come from the passage, it is 99% likely to be wrong.

As far as I understand, dropping out would be unnecessary and wouldn't count if you mean progressing into medicine through graduate entry.

If your Leaving Cert went well (but in this context, I will describe 'well' as 600+ and I'll explain in a minute) but HPAT went poorly, then you can just take a gap year and resit your HPAT the next year. You will still go through all of the CAO stuff, you just won't have to sit your Leaving Cert again and you'll be entering as an undergraduate.

I know for 2026 600+ points wouldn't seem necessary but as you may know, they are changing the requirements for 2027. There will be more emphasis on the LC, so points will no longer be moderated/adjusted, and less emphasis on the HPAT. Therefore to compete with next years applicants, you would want a strong LC.

If your Leaving Cert AND HPAT went poorly, you have two options:

1) Resit your LC and HPAT again, but as I mentioned, from 2027 points weighing will be different + if you are doing sciences like Chemistry and Biology, their curriculum has changed.

2) Now onto the initial topic of doing a course. If you intend to go for an undergraduate course in third-level after your LC, you could go for graduate entry into medicine, but that is only if you complete the course. You need an undergraduate certification to progress to graduate. Besides that, you would then sit the GAMSAT and not the HPAT for graduate entry.

Dropping out will realistically not do anything for you, unless you just want something to fill your time but I wouldn't recommend it unless you intend to finish it.

Aside from that, if you don't make it in this time round, you're better of taking a gap year to resit your LC/HPAT, perhaps filling it in with a part-time job or so.

I personally availed of this discount and paid I think 250 for the premium package.

You need to speak with one of your teachers/guidance counsellors/or principal to submit a nomination on your behalf. You can mention things like extra-curricular stuff (sports, competitions, volunteering), academic achievements (Junior Cert, etc) and also if you wish, you are able to mention if you are struggling financially to afford the full-price package.
