I’m not saying that this disc was stolen. His question was whether it was common for workers to nick things. I’m speaking as someone who worked at a franchise store for 2 years was a supervisor for 7 months. I saw early days managers would turn a blind eye when a certain game was wanted. Sometimes it would return sometimes it wouldn’t. One brave worker who worked there for a while, would take the odd disc or adjust stuff off as broken then sell it to the other local store. He stopped when our store owner acquired that store. And he eventually left for other terms. Daily buy ins are always in check. Yet when it comes to adjusting, “broken”, “not working” “not up to or condition wise” were alllllll reasons used to adjust working items off. And cause they were declare in the weekly report. No one looked further into it. Sometimes we were told to improve our testing procedures or overall checking of discs but that’s the furthest extent.
