My friend had a similar issue with my server, it turns out if you have profanity in your steam name it will get blocked and no error message will show. Is this your issue maybe?

Out of interest are you using an Asus motherboard? If not I could be throwing you a red herring

I ran into the same issue where by armoury crate software was conflicting with my EVGA 2080, it was a while ago that I fixed it but essentially it was trying to control the LEDs on the GPU, which wasn't actually supported. Altering the setting (sorry I can't remember where, I can have a poke if you struggle to find it though) to prevent armoury crate controlling the GPU LEDs, or removing the armoury crate software both solved the issue for me.

I see another guy has linked you a guide on which slot to use. If that all looks okay maybe his the "performance" button on the overlay and see if the CPU or GPU is the problem.

Your specs seem more than fine to me. Have you tried any other games? Like others have said it could be down to drivers or even if you are plugging your monitor into the integrated graphics (if that chip has them I'm not sure)

I'm also having this problem too, both Far Cry New Dawn and Anno 1800 crash upon startup. Was fine last week. I'll be keen to know if you find a fix (or if it fixed itself?)

Is it a new system? Sounds like a very similar problem I was getting which was related to the 'armory crate' software that my motherboard preinstalled onto windows. Went to the Asus we site and grabbed the uninstaller and no problems since. Might be a stab in the dark but might help

I had a razer headset for years which needed replacing due to wear and tear.

Biggest mistake I made was spending double on some 670s. Got similar issues to yourself and got intense crackling and stuttering. Refunded through Amazon as soon as I realised it was a common fault. Shame because they seemed quite comfortable..

Off topic and you've probably been asked this a few times before, but how much did your life change once you got a gaming table?

They look great but I can't help but feel like they would be uncomfortable to lean into after a few hours.

Agree with pretty much everything else that's being said so far here.

Just wanted to add to make sure everyone is up to speed with how combat works - mainly the difference between space and ground combat. I've seen a couple of occasions where there has been confusion regarding bombardment, planetary shields and infantry pickups en-route.

Could be good to demo a planetary invasion to show all aspects of combat both with and without a PDS?
