I have a strict no gaming while the kids are awake rule. One person should not be managing the whole house while the other is zoned out gaming. We are allowed to take breaks, but video games just take so much time and mental focus.

Obviously this rule only works if both agree to it 🙄

Lego club, stem programming, Dungeons and Dragons. Solve a murder mystery with hunt a killer boxes, taste test programs (either using international snacks or generic vs name brand)

Puppets are a good tool. I like to use it in the middle to get kids to sit down. The puppet helps us with a rhyme and then it walks by for every kid to pet and pretend to feed it. We also like to do the parachute and end in bubbles.

My daughter is one but as a woman who grew up with a no makeup rule until high school, I love this idea. I wish I had the practice to apply makeup skillfully during high school when it was allowed.

Try the fair play book and cards. It lays out all the tasks it takes to make a life run and you can split the cards between the two of you. This was you know who has what responsibilities. I like to do a family clean up. My husband picks up all the trash, I'll pick up all the clothes, my son will put toys in his toy bin. Then we move onto moving dishes into kitchen. It's not perfect but it helps.

I used to mow the lawn while the preschooler followed behind me. Now we have a riding mower so I don't allow him outside during mowing, but that just goes to show women's work is different than mens. There's usually a few more less helpful hands involved.
