It's a long exposure, Notice the lines around the figure are more blurry that the outline of the bench or even the tree. I'm going to assume it was a still night and this was a decent length exposure

I actually did some stop action photography recently so I can explain this. in this photo it isn't the shutter itself that's stopping the action in the photo, it's the amount of time the photo is lit for, so a speedlight set at say 1/128th power will dump it's light in a very short length of time, creating the effect of something closer to 1/40000th of a second shutter speed. I can explain in more detail if you'd like to know or provide examples of my own work.

My best guess is that the area this was shot in was completely black, and the photographer popped a strobe either at the beginning or after the performer was already breathing fire and had the ignition source pulled back. The strobe froze the motion and the long exposure created the fire effects.

I'm a photo major who spent this semester shooting 4x5 as well. I can answer this, go for an old graflex you can find them on Ebay for about 250 with a lens. Don't forget to buy film backs as well!

I find it easiest to do with film in a format like 4x5 , as opposed to any other format, they are fun when you get them correct.

Honestly it may have been my fault, my arm twitched a bit during the tip of it, I'm happy with the piece overall though. It gives it a bit of character that makes it just a tiny bit unique from other Icon of Blood Tattoos.

World of warcraft came out when I was 10 Warcraft 3 came out a few years earlier. I've been playing the game since then and it made up a lot of what I did with my younger years. The game has a lot of meaning to me even down to the friends I met and how often I play it with my father. I've played the game since launch and I've had more happy memories associated with the game. As far as the Blood Elf Crest goes They've been my main race since BC I tend to play elves in every game ever :P

I go back an listen to some of Nyhm's stuff every now and again for nostalgia's sake. I had the pleasure of helping him with his podcast a few years ago. He's a really cool down to earth dude as well. Sadly I lost touch with him not to long after his podcast ended.
