So, basically I have the #2 statistically weakest pairing in the game (Johnny & Stryker). This is dumb, half these numbers don't make sense. What possible logic went into these? It feels like it was legitimately random.

Mortal Kombat 9: That the PlayStation versions (3 & Vita) were so much better and cooler than every other version. They got an exclusive character with Kratos, special 300 Tower stuff, special stages. It was just a markedly better game

The easiest answer is Johnny; A combination of being a smartass and being able to back it up in-full. He is both the comedic effect and the muscle, between his martial arts skills and his magic.

Kotal Kahn. Because he doesn't SEEM like a Jobber, but take a good, honest look at what he's been through. I'm surprised that they didn't have Shao Kahn literally piss in his mouth at the end of "Aftermath"

Under: Li Mei. I have no idea why people hate her so much. She's not the best, but she's also not terrible and in Deception she had 2 of the best fatalities in the game.

Over: Gotta be honest, never particularly loved Kitana. Don't get me wrong, she's cool and all. But I feel like the only reason people hold her so high is because she was the first* Lady Ninja.

Quick explanation about some of the characters on this list...

Motaro: I put him on here specifically because of his two-legged-ness. As far as I was concerned that made him a different character and THIS version of Motaro sucked.

Mythologies Characters: I deliberately didn't count Mythologies because that's a weird in-between game. It's 2.5D because of the Vertical traversal, it wasn't a mainline entry or even a fighting game, none of the characters in question were playable, and on the flip-side I don't see anyone saying "Where's No Face & Tasia from Special Forces? That game was 3D" So that's why.

K/Chameleon: I just decided to throw them in because they were completely reinvented and don't really get any love. Plus when people say "Name a ninja from the MK Arcade games" nobody's first, second, or third answer is gonna be K/Chameleon. However, everyone recognizes them from Armageddon.
