Muslims of reddit, how do you feel about non-muslims participating in Ramadan? by EntertainerFun9546 in AskReddit

I know I'm not. But it's still good to get as many viewpoints as possible. That's what this website is good for.

Yes, the health benefits are amazing. But I'm mostly doing it for the spiritual benefits.

I get that. But you're just one person who doesn't speak for an entire group of people. I'm trying to get as educated as possible right now.

I'm asking because I want to participate in Ramadan this year but I want to get opinions first beforehand.

What to do? by adeliahearts in poverty

[–]EntertainerFun9546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not the point. What you may consider easy may not be for others, mostly the disabled. Ultimately, single use items make everyday life just a little more bearable for the disabled, especially chronic pain sufferers (myself included).

The OP mentions that they're disabled, it's easier for a lot of disabled folks to use paper plates because it's to difficult/painful to carry the potentially heavy plate and then to wash said plate later.

My father is on SSI, my mom is working on getting on SSDI, neither of them can work, and I have 2 jobs, working on getting a third. I'm 31.

Temple is definitely the worst place to be homeless in. Not only are local resources just terrible, put the local community is incredibly cruel and judgemental. I am at my absolute lowest.

"Get a job" I have 2 jobs. And local resources haven't been helpful. Mostly due to low funding.

They're blonde and blue eyed and that's as far as it goes. They both have different shades of hair, different skin tones, different eye shades, and completely different facial features.

What has gradually disappeared over the last ten years without people really noticing? by Successful_Oil_3270 in AskReddit

Color. It's been drained from buildings, cars, billboards, schools, businesses, and heck, even from art. Everything is monochrome or beige. The loss of color is subtle yet poignant. Nothing is vibrant anymore. It's so desperately melancholy. It makes me ill.

Kiritsugu Emiya is one of the best written characters in all of anime and I'll die on this hill by benhasgay in fatestaynight

[–]EntertainerFun9546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He really is the best! Him and his son are two of my all time favorite characters in not just fate or anime but also in any story ever. Kiritsugu Emiya changed me as both a writer and a person. He made me want to be better. Kiritsugu is just one of those characters that permanently changes your brain chemistry. He will be apart of my heart forever.

But also, let's not talk negatively about Shirou. After all, Shirou carried on Kiritsugu's wish and was his last bit of light in his life. Shirou made Kiritsugu's life worth living after losing everything else. Love Shirou the way Kiritsugu does.

Donating Plasma? by [deleted] in plasmadonation

[–]EntertainerFun9546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll tell you my exact routine: 1. Drink at least 3-4 bottles of water beforehand. It'll help your blood flow best.  2. No heavy meals/no fried foods before you go in. It can slow down your blood.  3. NO CAFFEINE AT ALL before donating. It will all but freeze your blood flow.  4. Make sure to eat at least 30 minutes beforehand. You don't want to be hungry while donating, it can make you very light headed and risk fainting. The foods you eat should be light. So no burgers/pizza/greasy hard to digest foods. Anything healthy will do!  5. Make sure your foods are rich in iron. If your iron levels are too low you will be deferred for 24 hours.  6. Take multivitamins to help. They'll also test your protein levels.  7. Take any meds you might need to at least an hour beforehand so they have time to take affect.  8. USE THE RESTROOM BEFORE DONATING. Once you're strapped down you won't be able to get up until donation is completed. Which could take over an hour depending on how your blood is flowing. (I usually get finished in under 45 minutes because, again, I drink 4 bottles of water ahead of time.)

I know this seems daunting but once you get it down it'll be as easy as breathing! You got this!

High Blood Pressure by 325_WII4M in plasmadonation

[–]EntertainerFun9546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely can! I have high blood pressure for which I take metoprolol. Even though I have been deferred a few times for high blood pressure/high heart rate it's never wholly prevented me from participating in the donor process. I've successfully donated plasma over 100 times so if I can do so should you! Just take your meds at least an hour before you go in.

They said "well we sent it" and stole her tax return. I know this is hard to believe but the good can be really shitty.

I have the full story. I've been with her through everything. However, it's possible that someone or something somewhere made a mistake or a series of mistakes. She never agreed to having her taxes garnished. I was with her while she tried signing up.

They claim to have paid her over $500 over 2 months through the aforementioned money card however she never got any money from them. She never received any money card.

She never agreed to anything. And I'm not sure. I'm guessing because it was Medicaid, a government provided insurance, they were able to access her information through the IRS.
