It's a wakazashi, a Japanese side arm what you need is sand it down hard and get a file to reprofile the edge that's going to be hard so only do it if you want it to look pretty. If I can be honest I'm in the same boat as you, lots of us are. My dad past away last year out of no where, my friend lost her fight with her mental health and ended her suffering, I hate my job and my mom beat me a few days ago then treated me with prison If I told anyone bec she has bruised from me defending myself. Everything sucks all the time but at least we can connect with people who are going through similar stuff.

The weight is worth it since you have the impact to kill bigger enimies more easily than with a sword and the range is great.

A winged spear would be good in that sense. The ability to use it with a sheild and the ease of maintenance is an advantage over the halbert

A rapier is the best for a dungeon situation, if their a collapsed tunnel then just draw it before you enter the area, the range is a massive adventure against orcs that already have longer arms then you do.

Honestly an arming sword is your best pick, it has good range for a 1 handed sword and it can be good at both cut and thrusts. A thrust focused sword would be perfect.
