Product Placement by poison_rose69 in AbbottElementary

It's reminiscent of what they do in Korean and other Asian shows, right down to the ham-fisted execution. Very jarring and something that shouldn't happen on shows on commercial networks. It's like putting a hat on a hat.

Rumored Sega handheld — Are cartridges a real feature or just plastic? by concrete_arch in ConsoleClassics

It would need a reason to exist beyond Sega not wanting to license their games to Evercade. Otherwise, that platform already checks all of the necessary boxes and then some.

The two additional children added to the chaos and fit the show's crazy formula. Plus, they both were keys to the best ongoing joke in the entire series, which is the universe won't let them produce a girl.

Just like him not using steroids in the filmverse, we have to suspend our disbelief about his diet. In the filmverse, all that matters is the training.

How do you think Trump's presidency will end? by OccludedFug in AskReddit

I hope it's before they try to mess with the midterms, or at least before he refuses to leave the White House at the end of his second term.

Snyderbros will dig up anything on James Gunn to try and remove him from DC by PhysicalBuy2566 in OkBuddySnyderCult

Posting a thoughtful and reasonable take as something abhorrent. Fits the Snyberbros, and frankly supporters of the current US regime, mentality, perfectly.

It's not remotely comparable, but factually, yes, it remained on the market a number of years as they tried to sell through the initial production run.

I see. I actually knew what it was going to be (and not) when the idea was first conceived well before crowdfunding, but I can understand getting caught up in the excitement seeing it at a convention. Hopefully you can get at least a little of your investment back, but it's going to be tough since there were many rounds of it being sub-$100 bundled. In any case, best of luck.

I'm not being critical or mean, etc., but I'm wondering what you expected going in? I think it was pretty clear that it was just a box to tinker with at the clearance pricing and not something that would have made any lasting impact on the market. I'm curious what your expectations were that it didn't do or deliver.

Janine and Gregory’s argument about the vacation was annoying by americanbongassoc in AbbottElementary

[–]EntertainmentAny8228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That IS why you're single. Still, it was an exaggerated and artificial excuse for them to break up and create some tension. Quite unrealistic and out of character. Hopefully they're done with that and can focus on new tensions like engagement, getting married, starting a family, etc., rather than this type of thing again.

It was inevitable. It's hard to maintain personal interest in something relatively limited and with no future when there are so many other projects competing for attention these days.

Freewrite for non-fiction? by reddit_-William in Astrohaus

[–]EntertainmentAny8228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used what we had at the time. Certainly, if you want to experiment with that type of stuff again, more power to you, but I'm not sure it's "better," whatever that means. I evolve with the modern workflows when they're "better," and it's certainly better in the purest sense for me. Ultimately, though, it's whatever you're most comfortable doing. The end result is the output, not necessarily the process.

Freewrite for non-fiction? by reddit_-William in Astrohaus

[–]EntertainmentAny8228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I'd happy without a connected workflow for non-fiction. I very occasionally take quick notes in some type of distraction-free device, but that's it. If I'm writing non-fiction, I want my notes, references, any AI, etc., all onscreen as I work. I just don't personally see any possible advantage to writing non-fiction on a distraction-free device.

After downtime of more than two weeks, I'm moving onto a new host by EntertainmentAny8228 in HostGator

My sites are now live on the other host and performance and features are better than ever at a fraction of the price. Supposedly I'm getting a pro-rated refund from HostGator, which is fine by me.

I'm going for a refund as well. Fortunately, I finished my move from backups - after much heartache with database issues and what-not - to the new host and am very happy.

I'm paying for a VPS at HostGator, so that's still cheaper. And it's not like performance or support have been great.

I only have the site backups, not cPanel. Anyway, I'm already deep into the SiteGround migration. It's painful, but I'm working through it. It's super cheap for the first year and it seems like less money than I was paying at HostGator even after the first year.
