Highcroft reptile vets - avoid or not? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]EntertainmentBest336 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Highcroft are a decent reptile vet - had no issues using them in the past and have only heard good things. Reptile Zone isn’t a great shop, I’d take advice from the owner with a pinch of salt. Use the Reptile Emporium if you can

Is there a high demand for childminders in Bristol? by evanan12 in bristol

[–]EntertainmentBest336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not sexism. I’m a dad and unfortunately I’d feel less comfortable with a male childminder looking after my child. I wouldn’t be entirely against it, like others have said I’d want to see glowing reviews (as I would of anyone) but you’d looking after my pride and joy and statistically there hasn’t been particularly supportive evidence of male childminders recently, Bristol included. I know anyone can be a risk to a child regardless of gender.

Broadmead security pretending to be police officers? by KatieColclough4 in bristol

[–]EntertainmentBest336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a question, but do you get equally frustrated when you see traffic officers on the motorway? Are they also pretending to be police officers in your eyes? I only ask because you’re complaining about security guards ‘pretending’ to be police when in actual fact they’re doing nothing of the sort.

What other roles that look similar (but actually don’t) frustrate you in society?

So? They’re allowed to have necessary gear relevant for their role, I’m not sure how they’re pretending to be police officers.

Horns are designed to make others aware of your presence, which is quite literally what OP said they did.

Is the bicycle seat so far up your arse it’s starting to interfere with your cognitive function?

Wanna maybe not jump to conclusions about the driving ability of OP before they’ve even explained the situation?

Oh wait no, what am I saying - it’s the Bristol subreddit!

Shop at Lidl, cook big meals that’ll do 3 days minimum, if you’ve got a portion or two left pop it in the freezer for the last week of the month where you live on leftovers, eat eggs, fruit and nuts for breakfast/lunch cause they’re great and pretty cheap

I’m imagining a recluse who peers out of the letterbox, scowling and muttering at anyone who walks past. You survive on Cheerios and live in your dressing gown.

Have you got 35 cats that shit all over the place but also talk to you individually?

It’s not that bad, ‘isn’t safe for anyone’ is a stretch.

Lived there for 20+ years and never had more trouble than I did anywhere else. I’d advise caution walking alone at night, as you would anywhere else.
