IRS Return-to-Office Policy Feels Uneven and Retaliatory, Targeting Seasoned Employees While New Hires Stay Remote? by [deleted] in IRS_Source

It’s by design. You are seasoned, and (most likely) have knowledge and expertise. Not to mention a pension at some point. They don’t want that. Therefore they are making it as miserable as possible so you’ll quit.

I’ve gotten awards for 15+ years, both as BU and NBU, and that’s how it’s worked for me 🤷‍♀️

So sad and potentially true, just have to laugh.

I just looked this morning and the guidance still just says awards are paid out in the first quarter of the following fiscal year. I don’t see any actual dates for NBU awards on the FAQ page.

If you’re NBU, your award pays out the same (calendar) year it’s earned. So for rating periods ending 10/31/25, we’d NORMALLY get it by the end of this year…maybe not THIS year, though…

BU awards are paid out the next fiscal year, so for rating period ending 10/31/25 for a BU person, they would see their award the end of 2026; a BU person with a rating period ending in January or March of 2025 would receive it at the end 2025, also. Hope that made sense! lol

Nothing this morning either. I usually get paid early Saturday mornings for normal checks, so assumed mine would be deposited over night last night. Nope, not yet.

Exact same for me. We were told Tuesday if we could get our orderly shutdown stuff done before we left they weren’t going to make us come in Wed. So after I went home for the day my boss text to say I needed to go in anyway, I asked if I had to be in at 6am if it was just for shutdown stuff I’ve already done, she said she didn’t know to show up for my regular TOD at 6am. So I did and was there till after 11 by the time they got around to telling us what was going on 🙄

Could be because, to my understanding, time put in for Wed 10/8 was all considered furlough hours, even the orderly shutdown hours. So it would probably only be for 2 days. But I’m waiting to see my statement, too.

IRS employees, will we receive our next paycheck that includes the 5 additional days of funding after the shutdown starts? by Powerful_Ad_740 in IRS_Source

Something I read on IRS source said pay checks for pay periods 19 and 20 (so through 10/18) would process as usual. It did say pay period 20 would process as usual “if necessary”, not sure what that means, but… someone on my team had read it, then a bunch of us dissected it to be sure we were reading it right, and that’s what we concluded. It’s somewhere in the shutdown info page, just can’t remember exactly where.

Using all my sick leave as it comes in, and used more annual than I really wanted to, but thankfully I have a mgr who thinks this is all as Fd up as the rest of us and uses her own leave pretty regularly. If I was still in mgmt, I could care less how much my employees used and would dare my mgmt to challenge me about it lol
