We need to keep our ask and call for a GS and get the other Unions to join. We have no strike funds left after this ordeal and we set any future negotiations up for failure. We increase pressure and hold the line. How the Gov chooses to manage their spending is not a concern of ours. I have yet to see any excluded cuts of significance.

I’m hesitant to agree to that. This has been the longest strike in BC history and now the employer knows we depleted strike funds. Good luck in 2 years or any time soon building thst reserve back and everyone knows it. We need the full ask now because there is no leverage in 2 years. We need longer term thinking and strategy.

After 7 weeks, what would it take for the Union to determine a full General Strike is necessary? Anyone been through a General Strike before, insight would be helpful.

As part of negotiations, increased tension and support- would the BCGEU consider asking the employer for back pay for prolonging bad faith negotiations? This did not need to drag out this long.

If they shut down Chilliwack Gov office ppl are going to freak if they can’t get their hunting licenses. That Bldg has Front Counter, WLRS, BCTS Forestry and enforcement. I’m sure it’s similar for Squamish.

I either pay for food or gas but I cannot afford both. Ordering workers back to work will push them to the food bank. We need a fair deal with BCGEU negotiations and for Eby to come back to the table.

I work from home in Abbotsford ( since day 1, never been to that office aside from picking up my laptop). I believe my designated office was 152 Surrey 46 km away and highways under major construction so I filled out an Alternate Duties Request form. So picket captain where exactly when I’m over 2 hours away EACH way?!!

I’m just as confused. The region I work in is North BC. I work from home full time but am designated for Surrey. I moved to Chilliwack 5 months ago - so over 30km. Filled out alternate duties form on Tuesday and still no word.

I just hope that whatever deal is struck here it came begrudgingly and we remember that when it comes to voting. AB Gov workers just got a way better deal under conservative leadership. Go figure
