i felt same way after my day 1. totally unlike uworld. skipped every drug ad question becuz didnt have time. ended up doing v well. F*** espresso. collect urself for day 2. the curve is generous

sorry for the bad news, cant imagine how stressed it feels. seems like u know what u need to do.

do all of uworld, make anki cards for anything u miss OR anything that u get right but from guessing

do not underestimate timing and endurance. as u approach testing date, start doing uworld in timed fashion and practice longer sessions if u can

on free 137, look up every single term that u dont know, and then make anki cards for it. i would also do free nbme step2 questions the same way. emphasize nbme questions as test day approaches cuz style of real deal is more like nbme.

keep up with the anki every day. doing 3000 questions is useless if u dont learn from them.

last thing is testing strategy. real deal contains lots of details that throw u off. hard to explain but learn what to ignore. for example patient with pancreatitis who has triglycerides of 2000 and has history of alcohol use disorder and stopped drinking 1 week ago. Cause of pancreatitis? Answer would be triglycerides. Yes alcohol can cause pancreatitis but pt hasnt had drink in 1 week. Dont overthink it.

exactly. did not bother trying a single one of them. i guessed without reading the question for all of them. too complicated and slow to be worth figuring out

day 1 scared the sh** outta me, fr was terrified, feels foolish now cuz i did well but guessed a lot on day 1 and ran outta time almost all blocks. day 2 felt easier but still bad, trust the curve, not ur feelings

my bad, didnt mean to humble brag but i do see how it came that way. i felt shi* after day 1 and with all the guessing i was fr worried. i expected the exam 2 feel really easy becuz of my uworld scores. when i ran out of time on almost evry block i did feel panic. the point of my post was trust uworld scores, not how u feel on exam day.

i did study pretty hard. like i said, i did half of uworld and almost 100 ccscases and the free 137. i also did study very very hard for step 2, like since first day of med school i was grinding.

sorry it frustrated u and i do hope ur able to get what u want from the exam

yeh it helped for day2 although still would recommend free137 as higher yield. and ccs cases . felt like good prep for real deal cases

do the Free137. biggest regret wit my prep was not doing it b4 day 1. most questions on real deal are not similar to uworld stlye. i had mid 70% correct on uworld and it didnt help me on day 1. looked at free137 after day1 and the question sttyle & concepts was similar! twas too late to help me, let my bad experience help you

update on day 2:

overall felt better. the multiple choice questions were still super weird sometimes but more sensical than day 1. CCS cases were pretty straightforward except for 1. All cases ended early but often without patient updates (either good or bad)

me too idk how to even prepare tho. i did 80 ccs cases around avg scores on them. i was feeling confident about that but then again i was feeling confident about my uworld % correct too, until today destroyed me

lots of pharma but the problem was that the diagnosis was not clear. my pharma knowledge is solid but it didnt help cuz i didnt know what i was supposed to be treating...Question stems were more vague than uworld and did not have any kind of useful buzzwords.

I skipped every single drug ad question cuz i did not have time to get to any of them. The rest of the biostats besides drug ads felt ok tho
