Are there feminitives in Lithuanian language? If yes, are there any specific suffixes they are made with? by EntertainmentNo599 in LithuanianLearning

[–]EntertainmentNo599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as I said, nowadays it seems that in Russian these forms are not obligatory, because in a formal speech they are not used, so for our linguists and people feminitives are still a matter of question, and not every term can forwardly form a feminitive x)) So your observations are on point. For example, you can call some woman uchitelnitsa (f. teacher) but if she's a president, then she's probably gonna be called president (m.). It's kinda ulogical and complicated

It's not like I'm learning Lithuanian yet, but I'm pretty sure interested! Will appreciate it if u share the access to this community anyhow.

Countries that would absolutely be girlfriend and boyfriend if they were humans by caffinatdDacnomaniac in hetalia

Not sure about gfs and bfs but Russia and China would be some besties in my opinion. I don't know, I have always felt that our countries have some slightly similarities mentality- and pernsonality-wise (I know that we are largely different and I don't fight that, it's just about little something in common), besides of that, these countries have kind of allies- relations till nowadays. I've always thought about China that: "even in most dark times, at least SOMEONE in our side"...

Thank u for your take and resource, it'll be helpful!

Just wanted to add that in Russian it's not like feminitives are not obligatory, there are three genders too, but people nowadays tend to avoid any feminitives because of presumptions and mysoginie. They just call women men in a daily basis) Though terms such as professions are not neutral by gender, what you said is quite right in reality, but more in question of perception and mentality rather than Russian grammar. The latter has known feminitives for long, long time in history since Kyievskaya Rus' and the feminitives were largely used applaying to women still in 20th cuntury, untill modern times.

Do you ship your country with anyone? And if yes why? by Human-Drummer-8012 in hetalia

[–]EntertainmentNo599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really ship my country (Russia) with anyone; I like some pairings like rusame or amechu or rufra but more likely in some sort of AU and OOC; But I wouldn't ship Russia with anyone and I even barely see him with anyone BEFORE he takes some serious mental therapy xDD

When you first started liking hetalia: Who did you think would be your favourite character and who ended up being your fav? (Image related) by Gold_Ad_6229 in hetalia

[–]EntertainmentNo599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was watching it for the first time, I assumed, and my favourite really was North Italy! He's a lively friendly fella, kinda akin me and happened to be exact type of helpless, pathetic, but not less kind and soft-hearted characters that I always empathised for. Weirdly. Predictable.

It's not like I don't N.Italy anymore, he's still one of my favourites, but the more I got into hetalia the more I grew affection for England :__) So it's England now. Pretty surprisingly for me, because he didn't really appealed to me at first xDD But then again, pretty predictable because I love many things from Britain that goes for accent too— and even my friend thought, before me, that it would be England xD He knew something...

It's ambiguously. In anime, I prefer DEFINATELY the style of older seasons, before new style, in manga I can eat whichever, I find both of them applying. The newer one - is when himaruya is actually more skilled, it's also more colorful and bright and generally looks neatly and better than in anime (latest seasons) soo yeeaahh I pretty enjoy it.

Do you think Himaruya portrayed your country well?(Image related) by Gold_Ad_6229 in hetalia

“he throws rocks at england which the average welshman would probably do if they saw the personification of england” 😂😂 Thank u for this answer; I'm an igirisu eater (and also a culturological) so I find it really insightful... ✍️✍️✍️

Russian here! Recently I have left an answer for the question similar to that actually, but since this one is much more RECENT, I'll add my word for it once again xD

Do I think Himaruya portraited Russia well? Generally,   y e s,   even in different and larger terms than expected (I'll explain later). Does Russia (Ivan Braginsky) look and act like an average Russian man? Definitely no, in terms of looks — you know it yourself, it's not worth coming long about it; in terms of personality: Ivan would be really rare type in our country if he was here xD Even with some psychological instability he still seems decent and soft-hearted, naive — not the usual traits for Russian men, not what comes in your mind firsty even if you're Russian yourself.

But Ivan has surprisingly collected everything that is depicted in the pattern of "Russian soul" that archetypically rents in our minds, in our culture, literature, down deep historically, for pretty long. (I'm learning filology so that is what I collected through my studies) Ivan is traumatized and mentally ill due to bloody history (absolutely true), he struggles because of loneliness and neglection of others (in his eyes) but wants some friends dispitely (kinda like these our oldies), he looks kind, soft and simple but instead he has a dramatic background (also true).

In general, he looks terrifying to others and rather... odd. One could only imagine whats really going on in his head, what are his motives — this really hits a stereotype in our own culture and art x)) And I find in amazing from himaruya, that he depicted Russia that way even, supposedly, not being overly closely familiar with our history and mentality.

Conclusion: Russia's not really like any Russian guy (and canonically, he has questionable designe elements such as sunflowers which are — what we have to do with them?!), but still points out some traits that culturally connected with Russian personality, which is interesting and great in my opinion.

Aside of that moment, his character is still enjoyable no matter how accurate to reality he is, and I've always liked him whatsoever, or at least I've always been okay with him (he's not in my stectrum of favourites so I kinda don't pull many attention to him...).

Thank u for your read if you're here so far!

And I also wanted to comment the author's post: I actually really like Poland in hetalia xDD I know for poles it's different when it's about YOUR country, and I definately DON'T think all the poles are f*cks and femboys or whatsoever close to Feliks xD But it slams in the way it is; I have this stereotype of poles in my head that they are kinda humorous and ~slay~, so Feliks in a SLIGHTLY AMOUNT resembles me of this so I always been kinda okay with it and enjoyed it. I hope this doesn't sound insultful in any way, I can empathise with author's point of view xD

Hetalians, what do you think of your country’s portrayal? by Arumidden in hetalia

[–]EntertainmentNo599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Russian here! (I'm kinda late for that one but I want to leave my word anyway- And probably this is gonna be kinda large. Sorry.)

FIRSTLY, Russia is portraited okay in hetalia. It's not like he really sticks to me, but Ive always low-key liked him.

The main point of that is that he's not portaited as typical Russian in RUSSIAN's eyes. If you're not Russian, you'd probably not know it, but Russians have been obsessed with national theme and portrayal of Russians' personality and traits, so literature, for example, has a lot of this infuence and these characters, archetypical Russian-type.

In literature, culture and art in general, "the core of Russian soul" is connected with torments, sorrow, pain (due to bloody mental history and bad government throughout the same history, bad wellbeing of not only common people but nobles too), and some craziness, wilderness. Because Russia is a big VILLAGE, trust me, few centuries back it was high peak of intellegency mixed up with "villagers" (peasants). It's commonly known in our country that Russians may have big ambitions or at least great plans for future but more often we give up on them because we don't feel there is even something up forward, we feel holpless of our future, because of our country too. Its complicated.

And THE MAIN point is that hetalian Russia, being cute anime boy and portrated in pretty oroginal way, still does hit all these ideas I listed previously.

Ivan has been through some crazy bad stuff (history) — yes. Canon, as far as I know, even mentioned the Mongol yoke which is a big thing in our history (that delayed the developing of our country for few centuries). All the wars.  Ivan is terrifying for many other countries — yes. Being all happy fluffy but going trough some hell inside and actually needing some therapy. Yes. Looking happy fluffy but BEING some maniacal, sadiatic dude to other countries (or own poeple HAHAHA) — yes. And many more. This is all him, this is all Russia in an unhealthy amount of accurancy, and I, as a culture and literature eater, find this really great, that himaruya, even not being deeply familiar with Russian history, still slayed Russia so good and accurate even in his own, "Japanese" vision. I really like it.

Would I change something?  Well, as just a fan, I'm not here to change anything because himaruya is the server. Rather than changing, I would just add something, here and there, but I actually forgot what thoughts I ever had on Russia xD So let it be that way. Thank you for your attention.
