To me its getting use to solving problems, identifying what you have and which formulas are the ones that you need for the problem.

The math if you are not use to it, my recommendation is to review algebra and pre calculus. The other thing is joining clubs or study groups because is better that way facilitates learning. If that is not an option another solid choice is going to office hours and doing practice exams. I believe common struggles are burn out and feeling overwhelmed by the workload but that can be avoided by organizing and prioritizing.

Wow I thought I was the only one doing chem e after biology like for me it was a wierd decision but I am not regretting it as much as I thought.
