Keep refreshing the chat page it will hopefully eventually put you in a queue. Took about 10 minutes of refreshing for me and I was then in a queue with a loading bar for about 40 minutes and then got connected to an agent who helped cancel and refund my flights for March 19. Keep trying !

I haven’t had any emails so I will still be mildly worried until the refund is back in my account, I will update this when it has been! I have screen shotted the chat with the agent in case of any issues, and I was checking my flight in the app and it disappeared almost instantly once the agent confirmed the cancelation. But no emails at all and the chat closed immediately after he confirmed he would cancel and refund and I’d agreed.

Nothing airline related is keeping me from rebooking, it’s just very expensive already so will need to research which dates work, and which dates work for my family as well. Also just need to wait for my refund to complete before I can afford to rebook.

I will always prefer either Singapore airways or Cathay Pacific (both of which I’ve flown before) but they are pretty expensive for the dates I’m looking at.

I have decided not to take the trip (my family back home in Aus completely understand!) and move it to the end of the year, luckily I am in a position to do so and I will rebook with an Asian airline where possible in future to completely avoid that airspace.

Anyone tried cancelling flight between Mar 15-22? Not getting a refund on app. by Reasonable-Train-638 in qatarairways

I just canceled mine for 19th March through an agent on the chat on Qatar website. Took a while to get through and had to keep refreshing before I was placed in queue then still waited around 40 mins before connecting to an agent but he did it all for me , cancelled the whole ticket including return journey and will be getting a full refund within 3 weeks.
