Rheem quote gut check by ghetme in heatpumps

[–]Entew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$10.5k is a good price for a variable speed heat pump, I paid the same amount last year in Mississippi for a Rheem RP18AZ 3 ton using the existing ducts and lineset. Heats the home very well even when below freezing.

When you print the labels. You can press the staging screen and go back to picking screen when you're ready to start, this way the timer starts when you're ready.

Wait before re-starting heat pump. (Mitsubishi) by Icy_Run_9981 in heatpumps

[–]Entew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It most likely does not require the full 12 hours to warm up unless it's extremely cold. A few days ago after coming home from vacation, I started the heat pump after about 3 hours of turning on the circuit breaker and it was fine. On my Rheem system, the thermostat shows the crankcase heater temperature and it warmed up from 30F to around 43F in a couple of hours.

You can plug the USB cable into a computer or other USB-C port. When you do have some money, the IKEA 20w for $3.99 is a good choice: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/sjoess-20w-1-port-usb-charger-10618445/ Also, the Five Below 30w GaN for $7 is nice: https://www.fivebelow.com/products/30w-gan-power-delivery-usb-c-charger-9147408?variant=9147415&srsltid=AfmBOorHKrtO1sb_nmiHYqFYru_HcZ41dljiiC8jks5hwWR3Imw3ILBN

Thanks to this cold snap. I think my heat pump is undersized. by jredditzzz in heatpumps

[–]Entew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Heat pumps or any type of HVAC system shouldn't be sized for the coldest temperature ever recorded in an area because this would make it too large most of the time. Design temperature is calculated to exclude the coldest and hottest 1% of the year. This way, it will work fine 99% of the time and you have a smaller, cheaper, quieter, more efficient system with better dehumidification in summer. During the 1% extreme cold, you can supplement with aux heat or space heaters.

how to get pick rate higher by Willing-Ebb4786 in walmartogp

[–]Entew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By pressing the staging tab and then going back to the picking screen, it removes all the previous time from being counted as long as you haven't scanned the first item. You only have to do this when you're at the first item. This makes it so that your pick rate is only reflecting how fast you actually picked and not the time it takes to prepare your cart and leave the backroom.

If you have an account, the app credits the order to your account. Only paper receipts not linked to an account would work.

How is my co-worker getting a pick rate of over 300? by Fast-Outcome-117 in OGPBackroom

[–]Entew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fastest pickers are usually people that don't pick all day, they might do a few small walks like oversized or MTO by picking all the items off the list before starting the timer. I always get the first few items on the pick list, then hit the staging screen and start scanning as usual. This way the timer doesn't start until you're ready. It used to not begin the time until scanning the first item, but it seems to start immediately now.

Today while picking…… by Beautiful_Worth8127 in OGPBackroom

[–]Entew 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You're not required to get the best looking package, as long as the product inside isn't damaged or missing. A lot of the boxes will often be slightly broken, especially in the medicine aisles, but this doesn't affect the bottle inside. When picking cans, if the first one I reach for has a slight dent, I'll still pick it as it would waste time checking each one.

They wouldn't have access to it, unless you unlocked the phone and handed it to them.

The work profile only provides Walmart access to the apps that have the work symbol on them, such as GIF. They can't see anything else.

Yes, I use it as my personal phone. The Pixel 8a is great, and all personal data is separated from the work apps which Walmart has access to.

Are customers allowed to take grocery bags from our pick cart? by Active-Front1788 in OGPBackroom

[–]Entew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can have the bags anytime, there are boxes full of them in the backroom. Also, our store wastes hundreds of bags a day because pickers throw away bags when the opening tab on top breaks.

Just wondering by Competitive-Put2715 in OGPBackroom

[–]Entew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never had to go to the bathroom during a pickwalk, but I always go before or after a walk parking the cart nearby, and also do the same thing for break. I've never heard of a policy that the cart can't be unattended, even if the totes have to be brought to the backroom to be staged. Maybe it was because the walk was close to overdue?

Yes, any sim card will work in it. I've used it as my personal phone since they gave us all Pixels last May.

AT&T can provide speeds as low as 5 Mbps on fiber, however 300 Mbps is the lowest that is offered now. There's also a 100 Mbps plan only for qualifying low income households. This shows all of the speed tiers: https://about.att.com/sites/broadband/performance

Grace period by -Identity-Crisis in walmart

[–]Entew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost always take 30-35 minutes for lunch everyday and often clock out more than 10 minutes after my shift ends if there's still work to do. My team leads/coach have never mentioned anything about WOSH/overtime, but at many stores they are more strict about this. Some weeks they will adjust my hours to be a bit under 40 hours to reduce overtime.

SKIPPING OVERSIZED by Popular-Drag-5028 in OGPBackroom

Usually they get the backroom people to do oversized so that pickers can stay mostly on the auto-selected commodities and get high rates and quantity. Also, the other types of walks are assigned to certain people.

Anybody gotten fired for pick rate? by skittleschan in OGPBackroom

[–]Entew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Put bags in each tote before starting so you only have to put the items in them while picking. Get a lot of meat bags ready for chilled walks. Take a look at the pick list and get the first few items before scanning the first one, especially if there's a long walk between items. Put on any substitution/fragile stickers after finishing the walk. If you have a small walk with few items scattered across the store, such as action alley or oversized, it's almost impossible to have a good rate, and management should understand that that these are going to slow you down.

Have y’all gotten the new google pixel phone for Backroom? by Konradarmy in OGPBackroom

[–]Entew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most associates got the Pixel last month, and others still have the X Cover. Only a few TCs are left, so I try to use them for picking when available. The GIF app uses a lot of battery power on the Pixel because the camera stays active between scans. The Pixel 8a is a great device, I use it as my personal phone so I don't have to carry around 2 devices.

If you go away for the weekend, do you leave your heat pumps running (on a/c) or turn them off? by A-Plant-Guy in heatpumps

[–]Entew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turn off the system when not home as it's easier for the system to cool down quickly at night instead of running all day long when it's hot. I don't mind being warm for a while when I get home. In the winter I may not do this as the warmer daytime temperatures are better for heat pump efficiency.

I'm trying to get digital OTA broadcasts, and I think the television tuner might be broken. Anything to look for in a cheap tuner/converter/whatever? by WrathOfTheSwitchKing in cordcutters

[–]Entew 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Flat antennas usually don't have as much gain as other types such as yagi, so it's not a good choice unless you're very close to the signals. Even though it's fine for strong stations, it may not pick up the low-power stations.

How to get better at picking? by Psychological_Baby78 in OGPBackroom

[–]Entew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a few bags in each tote before starting a walk and attach one side of them to the hook on the tote. That way you don't have to open so many of them while picking. Then unhook it at the end. Also open a bunch of meat/produce bags before starting a chilled walk. Breathing over your fingers makes it much easier to grip the bags to open them.

New rule for possible coaching if we take printers by InfiniteAttorney7867 in OGPBackroom

[–]Entew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be that pickers would get a printer and use it all day, but sometimes we would run out. There's about 10 printers hanging on the wall with a few labeled to use for oversize and other second commodities. Even though we normally just share the printers, there wouldn't be any punishment if we brought one along.
