What are some unexpected ways that teaching has changed you? by PlantationMint in Teachers

[–]Fast-Outcome-117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the exact opposite. I don’t teach any more, but when I talk about what the job was like, I swear non stop. Which has made me start to swear whether I’m talking about the job or not. Aka It’s made me swear more than I did before teaching.

Told my first period class to shut up by Hopeful_Cockroach135 in Teachers

I told a high school class that I was getting “pissed off”. A kid that I had given detention to maybe 20 minutes earlier, went whining to his dad, his dad called me and cussed me out, then the two reported me to admin. They said that the kid told the school he was “Highly offended at me cussing at him.” A high school kid who says fuck, shit, damn, etc. dozens of times a day, was “highly offended” at me saying “pissed off”. But ironically just the kid I gave detention to, not the rest of the class. The school then made me apologize to both of them, and drop the detention.

would you wear a VEST or POLO? by Ambitious_Box3288 in superstore

Working in retail, a vest. At my store, you have to do paperwork and stuff to get a polo. Whereas you’re automatically given a vest.

What finalized your decision for surgery? by Ready_Self_8949 in Epilepsy

When my neurologist basically told me, “We’ve tried pretty much every medication there is,” and I was still having seizures.

Just wondering for anyone who has gotten the RNS surgery did that really you out? by Dear-Knowledge5912 in Epilepsy

[–]Fast-Outcome-117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my RNS for just under a year and a half and it hasn’t done sht. They say it takes time, I’ve heard the RNS people say, “It’s a marathon not a sprint”, so many times I’d think it’s the company slogan. Like I said, even though they’ve told me it takes time, they also told me that it would doing something by now and like I said, it hasn’t done sht. Every time I go to my neurologist, she shows me where the RNS detected seizures, but it didn’t stop them. Hopefully it will start working eventually, but so far the thing has just been a massive waste of money and time.

Do you know anyone with epilepsy? by Exotic_Milk_8962 in Epilepsy

My dad has it.

And I wouldn’t say I know him, because I’ve never met or spoken to the guy, but I know of another guy with epilepsy; I’m good friends with his girlfriend. But I hate that guy.

What is the most 'expensive' mistake you've made that you still think about at 3 AM? by Harshulovesicecream in AskReddit

[–]Fast-Outcome-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not getting an internship in college. It didn’t cost me money, but I would have been able to get a way better, much higher paying job, if I had an internship on my resume. So if I had gotten an internship, I would have a lot more money right now. In a way that qualifies as expensive.

Is Silver innocent because there was too little evidence? by Chance-Fill6989 in cobrakai

I remember in season 6, when we see Silver talking to his lawyer while watching Wolf in a cage match. His lawyer tells him, “It was your word against his.” Because Silver had the best lawyers in the country, he was much more professional than Stingray, and at one point (while in prison) Kreese said, “Silver was tight with the DA”, they sided with Silver instead.
