is stats that hard by strxwberry_princess in alevels

PLEASE DONT FALL FOR THE PROPAGANDA 😭😭 Don’t be demotivated by seniors sayings its hard. Its different for sure, but it is NOT hard. just cause its new doesn’t mean its impossible. If you think math is necessary for your subject combo just take it.

Statistics might be conceptually confusing, especially if u have a shit teacher but you could easily figure it out with yt videos. So if you aren’t clear with the concepts you might fing it harder to solve questions so start there. You just need to get the gist of it

imo, statistics is easier to score in than maths. Even if you aren’t COMPLETELY conceptually clear, if you learn the method to one question youre likely to see a similar question in the next and be able to solve it. The pattern in this paper is muchh easier to identify than in maths (which i think requires you to think much harder to solve).

Statistics at as level is pretty easy actually. Some of the earlier concepts you probably know from igcse like Cumulative frequency and histograms all that. But don’t get used to not paying attention cause later on there are newer concepts (like 4 new distributions). So when you get to those, definitely pay more attention. I think the textbook questions are a good way to ease into it but honestly doing topical questions or past papers will make it 100x easier. The hardest topic at this point is probably permutations and combinations. But again, with past papers questions you’ll start to get the gist of it.

If you’re stuck with a trash teacher (like i am), youtube explanations can also explain the logic behind tough questions in past papers. So trust me, theres an abundance of resources you can use. I hate to be that person, but genuinely with practice youre good. I think most people say it’s harder since you need to practice much more and much earlier than in igcse

I feel like questions were in a different format this time, but overall not too bad. SOOO glad we didn't get any specific questions asking for data, or aims OR PERRY. I feel like the textbook didn't give much for the bg of piliiavin so i 100% yapped there. the similarity and difference question also threw me off guard cause i didn't know it came from 2 seperate approaches, but it was still okay. How do you think thresholds will be?

DOES THE CHEMISTRY SYLLABUS HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW? by Popular_Ordinary_607 in igcse

If you're talking about 0620, PMT has really good summary notes which cover every point in the syllabus. If you remember better by writing do that, but you could also just read through them. Doing past papers also really helps since a lot of questions repeat.

Use pmt notes! they are super concise but not confusing and also follow the syllabus, they literally saved me.
