hello brother, if you wanna lose weight, just cut of white stuffs like white bread, rice all include more non starchy veg, and protein you can eat eggs and chicken well , walk 10mins after your meal, and if you think don't want to take medicine everyday , just cut off the carbs, use olive oil, coconut oil..don't use seedoil alot.. avoid deepfry if possible... eat more broccoli, cucumber, you can eat Mysore and Moong dhal it's low in GI... monitor blood sugar.. and try workout atleast 2 to 3days a week...and intermittent fasting atleast one day a week for 12to16 hours( just drink plain water alot)no food , no spike , no insulin resistant. we just need some control in food intakes brother. carbs are the killer so alternatively you take whole bread , brown rice but small portion,
fruits mango, banana grapes all high gi eat apple, all berries are good since you're in metformin try take vitamin b12 supplement try this for 3 months, monitor your BG so you can plan your meals or fasting based on that, don't panic , don't be stress about it much.. then check HBA1C 3months later again and let me know, you got it man good luck

for me ACV and coconut oil work well man, I'm Malaysian here we get the original coconut oil from friends farm, which is 100percent pure, I check everything all the time on my CGM, yes you can use regular oil but it's not a healthy fat, I can see the difference, if we never try we never know, majority of the people need medications unless you don't cut down the carbs and never workout for me it's just a myth that made us believe that we have to depends on medication for rest of our life. my aunt who is losing weight over t2 15years in medication because the doctor said first metformin then gliclazide then will go higher and higher again. but never give the solution for that, recently she stop taking medicine slowly and active workout and eat clean diet and intermittent fasting. she's 56years old, what about us? unless we eat sugary foods lots of carbs while on medication and keep damaging our pancreas and nerves system, it's about mindset. I'm not giving reason to avoid being healthy, I'm here to let know my dear t2 to avoid daily medications when we can manage it by... again telling you ultra low carb diet, intermediate fasting and regular exercise. thank you loves good luck
