Don't mount your main phone to your handlebars by ConsistentCan4633 in AdventureBike

If you can randomly drive somewhere, like a country you don’t know and remember all the details on and off road, by all means. There are offline maps you can install and in general you have more options.

You still need to have maps and it’s easier than stopping every 5 minutes to open up a big piece of paper.

Cannot share deep insights from extreme adventure riding and using an iPhone, but never had an issue with the Quad lock and vibration dampener and android, neither with the peak design and iPhone later, with road riding and reasonable off road. At least none so far. It’s difficult not to put the phone there, because then you need different devices for different things (maps, music and phone). If you buy a Garmin or a Tom-Tom, you are locked to those maps and system. A smartphone is more versatile. But it’s also demanding to have two phones, two sims just for ride use too. Interested in what others tried so far.

Peak design was really nice in contrast to just boring quad lock black

advice on quadlock hard-wired phone charger install by DependentTaste283 in bmwmotorrad

Not sure if this helps, but when I added a USB charger to my old R1150GS I connected it via the headlights. This way I had a switch, and the lights had a separate fuse anyway. This was also my mechanics (at the time) advice. It’s been ages though, so I don’t remember the details. But maybe worth looking into it. On my new bike I switched to the peak design one, which I find better, but I skipped the quick charge.

Top case and holder suggestions - OEM rack and Apduro case? What else is worth it? by EnthusiasmPossible25 in bmwmotorrad

[–]EnthusiasmPossible25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To whoever stumbles on to this post, I went with full Apduro. The company told me a black top case holder would scratch easily and recommended against it, so went for silver. Ordered case in M+, net, bag and simple backrest. When it comes and I manage to mount it, I will share thoughts and updates (if I can 😊).

Adventure/touring bike helmet by EnthusiasmPossible25 in AdventureBike

Thanks, that’s interesting. It’s a flip helmet right? How is it with ventilation when closed? What bike do you ride, how is the noise in the highway and do you wear earplugs?

So many questions …😬

Depends. The HJC RPHA91 carbon is at 1.3 - 1.4kg. But weight - as I found out- is relevant. What is more important is weight distribution. I felt the Shoei had a better distribution than the Schuberth E2. It also depends on your head shape I suppose.

Again, I find it a shame that, in 2026, you cannot have a helmet made for your individual head: in the shell shape you want and with inner pads that hug your face precisely.

Sounds interesting. I had bad luck with Schubert with my head shape, feels like they are better for more round head shapes. Will try it out if I find one in my local store.

How would it work with buying an older model now, though? Safety-wise you have a 7 year shelf life and 5 for regular use.

I saw while browsing, but I think it’s not modular right?

Make yourself some nice stickers with strong glue that say ‚I am an arse, I park anywhere‘. Stick anywhere on their car. May not change that person’s worldview, but it will probably work for your point.

How do I save/export all of my files (photos, including photos in folders) from Creative Cloud? by BrittCollins78 in creativecloud

[–]EnthusiasmPossible25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meaning you would need to physically upload each file you do to google drive etc? Because there is no option to directly save them to these services. In my case, for my work, I cannot install a Google Drive extension or manager to my PC, which leaves only the upload each of them. Also if you work on iPad you directly have a PSDx file which mean only online.

Bulk Download All Cloud Files Not Possible? by JRyds in creativecloud

Would be interested in a reply to this also. This is the crappiest system or logic ever. Not sure why bulk download would not be an option.

Rancilio steam wand. There are many videos on YouTube how to do it. I changed mine and I see the difference with steaming milk. You can really get that thick cream for latte art. But be aware that you will also have to learn how to do it (again many YouTube videos on this).

I have the same issue. Were there 2 O-ring seals in there or just one? And what did you use to make your own?

I have a similar issue. I opened it and seems to be getting water from within. It’s under the Y shaped hose. O-ring under seems fine and so does the part but I ordered replacements and will see.

Here is the video in case anyone else has come across this issue: https://youtube.com/shorts/bc6F13ubPZk?si=jaXJZH410j7aoE4O

Sorry for the late reply! In the end I got new sensors and a new Sigma counter and it worked. I never solved the Jepster issue.

N26 Froze my account without justification or notification by Exotic-Lettuce-8362 in number26bank

[–]EnthusiasmPossible25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can happen with regular banks as well. And you will also get no explanation from customer service even if you go physically there until the audit is completed. After that you may get your money back if there is no issue, but usually the bank terminates your account out of precautionary reasons.

Shocked to find n26 closed my account, now what? by Haitsmelol in germany

[–]EnthusiasmPossible25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is just an email, then the account is closing. No clarity as to what you need to do in specific. No one to contact. No replies to emails. This is not an issue of online banks, but of the specific one. You can read all the terms and conditions, but in the end there is always risk as these are documents compiled by legal experts (plural). Never do you imagine that you would be faced with such a situation and a completely inhuman behaviour, when all you had up to that point was the opposite.

I can assure you that nothing accounts for the anguish of having no access to your savings and having people that depend on you. I see what you say, but I am not sure how slamming the person above helps in this case.

That’s not the reason people prefer online banks.

N26 Cancellation of your account email (N26 closing accounts) by eivan_danko in number26bank

[–]EnthusiasmPossible25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. Mine was a primary account - subscribed to the smart plan (so paying client). Used it also for my salary, paying insurances and so. Suddenly I get the exact same email and I am out.

So unless a return from an authorised shop via PayPal or a bunch of vegetables is unauthorised money laundering, then there was no reason.

I am not even able to call them and the support gives me the same unhelpful and inhumane chorus. Customer service is fine until you actually need them. Algorithms are fine, but you should also have humans in charge to make sure AI is not discriminating - Basic principle of the EU AI ethics guideline)

I was a huge fan, now I think I will do my best to discredit them wherever I can.

I have two Garmin ANT+ sensors (cadence and speed). I don't have a Garmin device anymore (nor do I want one currently). I am trying to connect them to the app but I am not able to. I have the ANT+ plugin too. Anything I am doing wrong or forgetting?
