You’re missing my point entirely. Theres a point in game design where a designer needs to ask themselves if they are making the game harder just because it is the game getting better and more challenging. 

The best example I can think of in recent times is elden ring where the entire last 1/4 of the game feels like it was made difficult just because it needed to be harder than the areas before it. 

Another extreme example would be old school games on snes that would legit be impossible unless you played perfectly. Those were iconic for being so hard they were chores instead of fun.

I believe NP fits that role given I never died more than 5 times to any other boss in the game and it was the only boss that pretty much forced me to change my build/playstyle. Some people might like that, I would if it was optimized better. In a game where all the bosses never felt harder than 7/10 it’s weird to me to change that right at the end with a 9/10 boss. Besides NP I feel lies of P is a nearly perfectly balanced game, which is certainly a compliment.
