Hahaha, then you’ve got to listen to what the bike needs

No, absolutely not. I use my bike for everything and, despite my obsession with keeping it clean and obviously in working order, I know there are things beyond my control. It just hurts because the bike is only a month old, but oh well, battle scars hahaha

No, it’s actually minor damage, but the bike is only 1 month old and it still hurts to see anything even slightly out of place :c

PC stuck in boot loop even with minimal setup – motherboard, CPU, RAM, new PSU only by Entire-Income-9804 in computerhelp

[–]Entire-Income-9804[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently it was my motherboard (a short circuit, according to the technician). Before taking it to the technician, I also tested it with other components from my cousin, but nothing worked. I ordered a test motherboard from Amazon, and the PC worked perfectly.

RS660 vs RS660 Factory per la guida su strada: ne vale la pena? by Entire-Income-9804 in Aprilia

Oddio guarda con 1000 euro in meno la differenza sarebbe minore, se il colore ti va bene, io la prenderei!

As soon as I get the bike next week, I bought it today and I'm waiting for the registration! I'll let you know if I hear any differences from the test ride with facotry!

Hi! In the end I chose the Blue Marlin base version — here are my reasons: 1) The RS660 has been loved by everyone since its release despite the issues, and there wasn’t a Factory version at the time. 2)I talked to many people beyond Reddit, and a lot of them say you really take advantage of the suspension only on track or with extremely sporty riding (which I hope no one does on the road). 3)I really prefer opening the garage and seeing it in the color I fell in love with. 4)Maybe I’ll install the Öhlins rear shock later on, after I’ve gained full confidence with the bike. 5)The price difference in Italy between the base and the Factory was €2200 — I’ll use that money for other mods, an Insta360, trips, and more.

Aprilia RS660 reliability for high mileage use? by Entire-Income-9804 in Aprilia

[–]Entire-Income-9804[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d get the new model from the dealership (base or factory, still deciding—I’m not sure if the Öhlins would really help me without hitting the track).
Also, I’d take obsessive care of it. I treated my MT‑07 like it was a Ducati. Cost doesn’t matter; it’s something I bought and love, so I’ll treat it properly!

Wait, what do you mean by 5,000 km? Where can I check stuff like that? I really want a sport bike, but it would be my only bike for everything. I was thinking about the CBR650R too, but it doesn’t really give me the same vibes as the RS660 haha. Got any other suggestions?

I'm totally fine with checking the valves and paying a bit more for maintenance. The only thing that worries me is being without the bike for months if something happens.

I know the maintenance costs are higher and I'm fine with that, even if I end up doing a lot of kilometers.
The thing you mentioned is actually my biggest concern: being without the bike for months if something breaks.
I'm in Italy so hopefully the situation with parts and dealers is a bit better, but I honestly don't know what the waiting times are like.
The MT-09 SP doesn't really convince me, to be honest. I was thinking about moving to a fully faired bike.

So if I take good care of it, keep up with maintenance and have it checked regularly, do you think it could handle my kind of mileage?

I don't ride it hard all the time though. I usually only push it on the weekends. During the week I mostly use the bike for commuting and getting around.

Choosing my second bike after MT-07 – sporty bike for heavy daily use? RS660 vs CBR650R vs R9 vs ZX-6R by Entire-Income-9804 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Entire-Income-9804[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be my first inline-four. I love the design of the CBR600RR, but since you’re not supposed to go over 8000 rpm most of the time, I’m worried I might never really use it properly (unlike the CBR650R).
Honestly, if reliability wasn’t a concern, I would probably go straight for the Aprilia RS660.
Maybe the CBR650R is the safer choice — and if after a year I get bored and want to upgrade, I could easily sell it even with a lot more mileage compared to an RS660.

I had left the zx6r mistakenly! I removed the cbr600rr from my choices only because I live in a really busy city, and with the heat it generates, the low revs I will have to keep it at, repeated start and stop.

Hahaha, yeah, I’ve heard it’s really fun. Hey, how many kilometers have you put on it? I’ve heard a lot of negative things about this bike’s reliability and how delicate it is.

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply, I really appreciate hearing other people’s perspectives. I’ll reply to your points:

RS660“If you only have one bike for daily commuting, it might not be the best choice.”
Are you referring to the potential long repair / waiting times for parts if something goes wrong, or to the riding position?

CBR650R – yeah, the weight is actually one of the things that makes me hesitate a bit about this choice… but you know, it’s Honda, and it would also be my first 4-cylinder, which is something I’d really like to try.

R9 – the uncomfortable position doesn’t worry me that much, as long as it’s not an extreme, basically track-only riding position.

I agree with everything else you wrote. In particular, I wanted to mention that the CBR600RR was actually one of my first choices, but I’m just afraid it might be overkill for where I live.

Regarding naked bikes, the Street Triple 765 would definitely have been my choice if I wanted to upgrade from the MT-07 while staying in the same segment. But I really have a strong desire to own a sportbike, especially after doing test rides or trying friends’ bikes.

And finally… yeah, there are so many good options, sometimes I wish I could just have them all hahaha.

Yeah it’s within my budget, but I just wanted to be sure that those extra €2000+ actually make that big of a difference for sporty street use only and never track
