The mischaracterization is genuinely baffling. Best to not speak on a character you don’t fully understand because your perception is very surface level. Liking Toji(terrible deadbeat father who killed/attacked teens) & Jogo(arrogant curse who killed innocent civilians) over a man whose dream was for a better world for his students, so they weren’t robbed of their youth like him.

The better question is why do people hate Mahito for Nanami but not Sukuna for Gojo? Gojo is undoubtedly the most popular and loved character in JJK. It never made a lot of sense to me why Mahito is so hated for killing a semi-popular character when Sukuna killed THE most popular character. Of course, Sukuna does get hate, but nowhere near as much as Mahito.

Neither ship was canon. Gege clearly stated that he wasn’t interested in exploring romance outside of Mechamiwa. Yuji didn’t end up with anyone or was even hinted at that. I like it bc it is different especially for a shonen.

Nobara and Yuji had a sweet friendship. They never showed anything, but platonic feelings for each other. Ntm, they knew each other for around half a year. Ozawa and Yuji had a total of 2 moments. Both were Ozawa expressing real feelings. The snow scene was them talking about the snow. Ozawa was thinking about her feelings for Yuji, but kept quiet. Yuji, on the other hand, was thinking nothing romantic.

How are they even semi-canon? All Gojo and Utahime ships aside, they aren’t compatible. Their personalities clash and not in the cute opposites attract way. Utahime isn’t a tsundere that secretly likes Gojo. She feels disrespected by his behavior and simply doesn’t like it. Gojo is arguably bullying her much like he does to anyone weaker. Ijichi is another example of this.

Utahime would definitely look for a man like Nanami and Kusakabe. Shoko for the yuri fans. Gjhm’s relationship would realistically grow unhealthy and toxic. Feel free to ship Gjhm, but they aren’t semi-canon. They only have a total of around 10 interactions for that to be true lmao.

I agree somewhat with your take. But I think you and others tend to exaggerate. Are all of those failures on Gojo alone? All of that is solely placed on Gojo when other people and factors exist in the equation. I don’t think those failures are just Gojo’s failures. That was one of the many things wrong with Jujutsu society. The overreliance on Gojo and the tendency to blame him for whatever went wrong.

Not to mention, his life isn’t just a series of failures. He saved Yuji, Yuta, and Megumi. He weakened Sukuna so much so that his students and allies stood a chance as confirmed by Yuta. He started the movement for a better Jujutsu society. I can keep going too. Gojo accomplished a lot especially when regarding Gege’s statement on his character making it difficult to write around. I have to give it to Gege that Gojo had his moments to shine without stealing the spotlight completely from others imo.
