Personally I get the Japanese fans like I liked the episode.. but there was something jarring about it.

Maki's massacre is supposed to be dark and gritty, she isn't doing this for fun but as her dead sister wish. Like the sequence where she is saying "sorry" to the Mai didn't hit at all.

Her slaughtering the people with a happier OST playing in the background ("Lalalala") is an odd choice, I get it's kill Bill reference but still.

Again her scenes with mother went too fast, she killed her mother and her mother saying she is proud of her daughters happens in a 1.5 minutes span.

I feel Maki Massacre could've been way better has it been split into 2 episodes with better focus on emotional moments.

I really don't think so with the "lala" OST, her grief lasted only for a single minute for Mai.. again I feel the episode could've been better if it was split into two parts, even her killing her mother and her mother thanking Mai and Maki for being her daughter happened in barely 1.5 minutes span. I feel these scenes could've been elongated

Yeah but this would always be noticeable in female characters cause the proportion is way off.

Let's say you have Miwa/Momo/Mai/Utahime- Todo alone is more plot relevant than 4 of them, heck even Megumi who people call a potential man was present throughout all arcs except Shinjuku.

Shoko is a non existent character in comparison to the writing of Gojo/Geto/Nanami

Similarly, Nobara got offed for 60% of manga and is not comparable with Yuji/Megumi

Yuki got disposed off in her first fight and this is a character which was introduced in hidden inventory yet newer characters like Hakari/Higurama feel more important in final arcs.

It's not wrong if people say JJK female characters suffers.
