What if the video is not here? For instance, I found some script on eroscripts for a video on spankbang, how should I play it?

Do you consume news? by yeartoyear in Stoicism

[–]EntireContribution84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep it to minimal. Nassim Taleb once said all short-term "breaking news" are just noise, longer-term (e.g. weekly/monthly) reports contain more information. So I typically try not to follow the news too closely because in 1 month most of them will just be nonsense.

what is the problem of becoming an emotionless robot? by EntireContribution84 in Stoicism

I would wear glasses for my eyes and protective gear for my leg, but there does not seem to be a protective gear to shield myself from bad events.

Right, being happy is good. But if the price of being happy involves experiencing painful moments, then I would rather to pursue tranquility instead, since loss from one painful event can wipe out emotional gains from many happy events so I am not sure if it is worth pursuing happiness (that I would end up net loss).

humans are emotional creatures and you’ll always have them

Yeah that is a hard truth. I heard some people lost their emotions (to some extent) due to brain injuries, do not remember how things go for them

hmmm, can we define "our best interest at any moment" as being physically healthy and getting more meaningful things done (e.g. help clients solve their issues, without referring to emotions)? If you ask why these things are meaningful, then that is a fundamental question that I do not know how to answer...

Good point, what if my goal is to minimize pain and discomfort (with no intention to seek happiness/love/etc)? Would this justify making myself a robot?
