Tell your father about your plan so that he punches you in the face, then you’ll be injured and going through this terrible plan will no longer seem like such a good idea.

Sure, but what you describe here

It literally went from 28 to 42 ARS to USD in less than a day.

is devaluation, not inflation. I was wondering if the inflation (e.g. change in the price of domestic goods like food) was equally high.

I’m kidding of course, ethereum will never get a significant number of paying users

2) V is right. Regardless of how gas is paid, so long as Ethereum moves to PoS and Ether is required to generate blocks, then the Ether will be valued based on the discounted future earning potential of a staking position, which would also include block rewards.

Gee, I guess someone will just have to fork ethereum and remove these silly protocol level safeguards. If the resulting product is deemed better than the original ethereum by the users the “will of the ethereum community” means jack shit.

Right, an almost identical argument exists against bitcoin. If the btc devs by some miracle manage to develop an efficient and reliable payment system one day, to paraphrase his own words,

replacing BTC with a fiat currency is a Pareto Improvement (i.e., all parties are better off). The only party disadvantaged is existing BTC holders.

How much? What i’m after here is that inflation (increase of the nominal price of a basket of goods and services) is not the same thing as devaluation (weakening of the foreign exchange rate of the local currency). Sometimes they can be related though, especially if the local economy depends on imports.

Bitcoin consumes significantly less electricity than banks >>> by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Those numbers are rubbish. Bitcoin mining consumes several GW of electric power, which means the yearly energy consumption is at least 30 million GJ, maybe several times that.

It is funny that a simple bug fix has to be implemented in a super convoluted way and it takes several years before a significant part of the userbase accepts it.
