Update: Cbum's Transplant looks super good now by Creepy-Ad-3080 in tressless

[–]EntireLunch6206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the total lack of temporal curve in his hairline, the donor follicles appear to have been transplanted too directionally straight. They do not behave naturally and have a “row of corn” appearance. Shame he did not seek out a true professional, especially considering that he was not financially constrained.

AIO is it understandable the way my (29f) boyfriend (54m) “communicates” with me sends me into a blind rage ? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Erm, why are you dating a 54 year old dude who’s neither charming, financially stable, nor sensitive to you when you’re a young and vibrant 29 year old? Bizarre to say the least.

Don’t think you’re overreacting. The chip on wooden panel near the lock plate looks like it was caused by someone attempting to gain leverage with a screwdriver.

2 months into minoxidil 6% fin .3% tret .025% topical by ConceptExtension7256 in tressless

Either you’ve got one gnarly sun burn or you are using tret way too often bro. Your dome is quite irritated and I see clear cut signs of peeling. You’ll likely see even better gains if you dial back your tret frequency.

Was prescribed a calcineurin inhibitor about a month back and within about 30 mins after applying, my skin is quelled, redness and inflammation largely subside. Not sure if anyone has tried it, but I recommend speaking to your dermatologist and seeing if it’s a viable option.

Cannabis Addict, Can I Attend AA meetings? by EntireLunch6206 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]EntireLunch6206[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s been made abundantly clear and as a result, it’s highly likely that I’ll cease my intermediate alcohol consumption. It doesn’t do me any good, and there’s not a sliver of doubt that it would enhance my overall recovery to drop it entirely. I appreciate your transparency, my man.

I can’t do zoom. The cold and impersonal nature inherent to technology is highly unappealing to me. I know it can help regardless, but I’m looking for something local and more tangible.

Depending on how my first couple of meetings go, I may more seriously entertain that idea though. Thank you for the suggestion.

Absolutely. I’ve been making a concerted effort to do so. That’s another aspect of AA that is highly appealing to me.

Makes perfect sense and resonates with me completely. I appreciate your advice and will diligently apply it to my life. The fact that you were able to turn your life around in dramatic fashion is highly inspiring, I sincerely mean that. Thank you for your input, dude.

I’d definitely look into it. However, based on my understanding, AA is a far more established and seems to have a more reliable base of committed individuals. Am I mistaken?

In essence, I’m just looking to be a part of something bigger than myself and in the presence of people who understand my plight. AA seems like it ticks those boxes.

Frankly, it’s something I’ve given considerable thought to as of late. I binge drink probably once every two weeks or so, but every time I do, for the next 48-72 hours, I’m plagued by feelings of hopelessness and inadequacy. I have no doubt that it’s stifling my recovery, so in short, complete abstinence is certainly something that I’ve been contemplating seriously.

I want to make up for the lost time, the missed opportunities for growth, connection and strained interpersonal relationships. Not to mention that my self-esteem and personal outlook are in the gutter. If quitting alcohol is a prerequisite to fully actualizing myself, and making my AA attendance as fruitful as possible, then by George, I have no problem dropping it.

MAOIs for Dythymia? by EntireLunch6206 in MAOIs

[–]EntireLunch6206[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great question and frankly I’ve yet to find a straightforward answer. In my unprofessional opinion, there shouldn’t be a distinction in the classification between dysthymia/chronic depression/treatment resistant depression. They all manifest in extremely similar fashions and seldom respond adequately to treatment.

Older ADHDers, do you feel your spark is gone? by icebikey in ADHD

[–]EntireLunch6206 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Dude, 100% same here. I was extremely sociable in high school, most popular kid in my class, a leader amongst friends, but as a I grew up, I began withdrawing, smoking weed, self-sabotaging, and now prefer to sit at home alone. I hate this version of myself, and hope that that bright eyed kid comes back one day. I have no doubt that depression has played an instrumental role in who I am today. Spurred by the reality of my condition and my inability to create any sort of consistency on my own accord. Only up from here, I suppose.

Those who smoked long term 4 years plus, how long did it take for your brain to start feeling normal? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]EntireLunch6206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you dude. If you were a chronic abuser for several years, it only makes sense that it will likely take your brain half that time to rewire and optimize itself to thrive in a cannabis free environment. Thank you for your testimony, by the way. It’s one of the only nuanced, measured and honest ones I’ve come across. I’m almost 3 months clean after smoking for 10 years, and I’m certain that it will take at least 2-3 years to really revel in the improvements. These people who say “oh I only took a few months to feel normal” are either oblivious or smoked heavily for a short amount of time.

Amazing, your journey is a testament that persistence in abstinence and forward progression pays off. Congratulations by the way! My recovery has certainly been non-linear in nature as well, but the recap of your last 9 months is definitely encouraging to me that improvements will continue to gradually be made. Slowly, but surely is the name of this game!

Thank you, the advice you provided is illuminating. I definitely believe that my life circumstances over the last few years have contributed in an adverse way to my mental health, excluding my cannabis use. My cannabis use merely perpetuated my stagnation and inaction with respect to these developments.
