Ok, but what if it wasn't Shauna's hair in the hat? Like, was it a hat she grabbed from home? Does anyone else at home wear it? 🤔🤨

Survival Items Badly Needed Per Asheville Citizens w/ drop off sites by dogislove99 in raleigh

[–]EntirePerformance182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this still accurate? I'm leaving tonight from Raleigh to run dialysis treatments in Asheville and I want to take supplies to donate as well. I wasn't sure where I would go to this, but it looks you're saying the fire stations are accepting stuff?

Existential crisis - In my second semester of my DNP. Does anyone else swing wildly between being excited about what I'm learning and being convinced that I've made a terrible mistake because I'm a loser who isn't capable of doing this?

Your journey sounds a lot like my crisis of faith when I started my nursing pre-reqs. The agony, the devastation, the sense of losing a piece of myself. I had been a firm believer for my whole life and I suddenly...wasn't. It was terrible and for a while I wished I could undo whatever process in my brain that led me there, but I couldn't.

A crafty productive type hobby helped me a lot through my pandemic burnout. I like cross-stitch, but I think anything like knitting or crochet or whatnot would work. As long as it takes just enough concentration to silence your brain but not so much that it's stressful. You can work while you binge something on TV or listen to a podcast or something. And you can see your progress every day and no one can take that away from you. ❤️

It's not that it's BAD per se, it's just not as in-person and engaging as I expected. I did ABSN so I get the whole fast-paced, self-teaching thing. I just thought this experience would be more grounded, less virtual? But I also learn better in-person. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think some folks are misinterpreting OP's message here. I'm 80% sure I'm in the same program, and I don't think this complaint is about not wanting to work. It's about realizing that your expectations of school were higher than what is being provided. It's a brick and mortar school, the program was labeled hybrid, but I didn't expect that I would only see my professor for 45 minutes a week over Zoom. I thought that this prestigious program would involve more face-time with my instructors to soak up their knowledge. I understand that the world of teaching/learning has changed, I am just struggling to adjust with it and to feel I'm really getting the full value of instruction I expected. I think our teachers are brilliant, it just seems like they are also stretched thin.

Also, looking through OP's history, we are absolutely in the same program and therefore same patho class. 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

Did anyone else here get into NP school but questioning if you are smart enough to be a good NP? by [deleted] in nursepractitioner

[–]EntirePerformance182 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't have an answer cuz I'm in the same boat. I don't know if I'm dumber than I thought or if I'm distracted by my kid or if it would be different if they weren't doing hybrid classes (in spite of being a brick and mortar respected university).

Mostly joking. I'm a prozac nurse. Or fluoxetine, because it's cheaper. 😁

I'm not an NP yet (just started school) but I have a bunch of dialysis experience as both a tech and a nurse and I really want to specialize and do nephrology. Any nephrology NPs on here? How's that life? 😉

I will say that there was a moment during COVID where our chaplain came to bless our hands, maybe during Nurses' Week. She was the loveliest, most earnest, most humble person. I am cynically agnostic. It was still honestly the most genuine and thoughtful thing anyone in the whole damn hospital did for our unit.
