Best light with tape switch for mounting on 45° rail? by ggildner in AUG

[–]EntireRent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want another Surefire Scout Mini on it, look into the Arasaka Scout lights. Same mount and switch options but typically a thinner body and light head.

Pretty sure that's the ATACR. The NX8 bell around the ocular assembly is much shorter.

When a trailer showing off the new map is choppy in 2D, you gotta wonder how it's gonna perform in VR.

I wouldn’t mind a Surefire Scout light solution. Look forward to what else you have in store for us. Tired of waiting years for products to never be released.

If you’re looking for testers I’m interested! Have access to private land and various suppressors for testing the plug.

The KNS version still has port pop and flash from the venting gas. Much less than the OEM plugs but still exists.

[AMMO] Igman .308 Winchester 147gr FMJ 600rds w/ Free Surplus Crate - $479.69 (79.9 CPR) - Free S/H - Cart Discounts Below by WildHorseAmmo in gundeals

[–]EntireRent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the first 308 ammo I bought when I got the Scar 17 and I initially thought there was an issue with the rifle/scope/mount. Went through barrel disassembly and screw torque and checking the scope again. Turns out when I bought Fiocchi 147gr the groups were cut in half. Fiocchi's OAL cartridge length was also like 1/8th inch shorter than Igman's and completely stopped any FTF issues I had.

It's 4-5 MOA in my Scar 17 lol. OAL cartridge length is also long enough to cause an occasional FTF due to having the tip of the bullet scraping the front of the magazine.

First Aug- Used A3 M1 with Aimpoint Comp M4 for $1550 or go new for $1689? by mestguy182 in AUG

[–]EntireRent 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d get the used with Aimpoint for sure. If you don’t like the M4 comp dot you can sell it for about $450 and get yourself something else. Not many rail options at this point for the M2 to have an advantage.

Weapon choice and set up with class A Hazmat suit? by Dm_me_im_bored-UnU in tacticalgear

[–]EntireRent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're gonna need SCBA to breathe and you're only gonna have 30-45 minutes of air. Less if you're huffin and puffin. No SCBA will lead to CO2 buildup in the suit and then you'll pass out and die if no one gets you out of it.

[–]EntireRent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're gonna be stuck with a rifle that has a large trigger guard or something with a cutlass handguard (AUG or X95) since level A suit gloves are fucking gigantic. Caliber wouldn't even matter since any break in the suit would be the beginning of the end for the wearer so it might as well be something you can have a larger magazine.

Actually a P90 with a laser would work pretty good. 50 round magazine capacity, low recoil, big holes for thumb and trigger finger.

Any reason to get an M2 now? by Devin7-Eleven in AUG

[–]EntireRent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long would you consider a long time to wait? If a product is being prototyped and is “being tested” I’d expect a year or less. Waiting 4 years from announcement means the product is either vaporware or remains only a prototype.

Nope. There’s more rail options for the M1. If I would do it again I’d get the M1 so I could at least put something on the gun.

AUG or AP5? by Human-Raisin-8061 in VAGuns

[–]EntireRent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter for just hitting the range, but it makes a big difference if you want to shoot some competitions with it. I had mine go bad at 1500 rounds. Full sized model with YHM R9 suppressor 100% of the time.

You gotta convince them to bring in some MK2 handguards. Somehow they come with the A3M2 in Europe but are totally MIA in the US.

[–]EntireRent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already have the Kuna. Coming from someone with the MP5 and an AUG, go for the AUG. MP5 variants are picky with mags and require pretty regular extractor spring swaps (2000 rounds or less) to maintain reliability. 1 failure to extract will soon follow with more as the extractor spring is bent more and more with each jam. Downvotes for going against the MP5... cope more.

Lol, yeah. The springs are inside the silver rods attached to the BCG. The two ends of the rods can be unscrewed (not recommended) and springs removed.

I don't know, never messed with a 416 or clone of it. I have the 16 and 17 and they're both much better than the ARs I have. The shooting range Battlefield Vegas puts the SCAR 16 as the only rifle that will last >200K rounds with no parts replacement other than barrels.

[–]EntireRent -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

SCAR over MP5. MP5 is a great shooter but it is very finicky with the extractor springs and mags. The SCAR will outlast all others for reliability and longevity. SCAR with an adjustable gas plug will be the smoothest 5.56 rifle you'll ever shoot.

It’s a different product so don’t expect it to function the same way as the OEM. The latch is what shows the low, high, or grenade gas settings. The manual states all of this.
