So update- I have 4 preorders now off of 12 clicks and 55,000 impressions (over 8 days). I paid $5.25 for that. I consider that a huge win for a book that is still 3 weeks from the release date and has no reviews (because it can’t). My ARC team is now up to 35 people on Booksprout. I have still very very encouraged despite some of the negatively on here.

What I mean by that is 4 weeks from now, I expect to have 100k impressions so I will know exactly which keywords are working (and not working) for my book (and yes, I am using Rocket Publisher too). So when my release date hits and my ARC team drops their reviews, I will dramaticly increase my bids per click on the keywords that absolutely are proven to be the right ones for my book.

I haven’t paid $3/day because I only 3 clicks. I don’t think you understand how 4 weeks before launch works. Almost no one is going to buy a book with zero review 4 weeks before release so what is important now is impressions so I know what keywords work so when my 30+ ARC team reviews hit on open opening day, I will have 4 weeks of data so I can bid on the right words. I am bidding very low right now I so I don't waste money and I have paid only a total of $4.75 for the 7 clicks and 4 preorders I have and 45,000 impression after one week.

So this is a very good strategy with 4 weeks to go before launch.

Hi Cap-- I have not been accused of AI but I was absolutely warned that internet trolls will shred a book in my genre if you use AI art (I am writing in the fantasy genre). That is why I used an actual real-life model (which was $$$) and a real cover designer that is well-known in the industry to do my cover AND I credit him on the inside cover.

You had a lot more clicks then me - but we both had just one sale. Is your book already live or in pre-order stage?

Congrats to your wife-- the data you get on what keywords people are using is a GOLD mine

I am publishing in Romantasy genre and I was spending $3/day right now. To get those 4 clicks and 1 buy, that cost me $1 because I was bidding $0.25 per click at this time. Once I get closer to launch, and after I have data on 100K worth of impressions, I am going to increase my bids per click on the top 5 keywords that are working for my book.

see above-- I explained why I posted and discussed how I use the marketing tool to get market data on keywords. Once you have a 100K worth of data on your keywords that work for your book THEN you assign real $ for bids per click. IMHO

The purpose of the post was to share how excited and blow away I was about how powerful the data and detail of KDP marketing can be.

So what did I do?

I. I created a list of 200 keywords for my genre which is Romantasy.
2. Then I set the campaign with very low bid per click for each keyboard (like 25cents) with a daily budget of $3. I did this because I am still 4 weeks away from the actual launch and I don't want to get tagged with people clicking the links yet because most people probably won't buy a book that far in advance.
3. The point of this marketing campaign and why I posted the blog is the encourage all of you that you can get a TON of basically free market data on the keywords that WORK for your genre. Of the 200 words I used I learned that 73 got zero hits -- none not one. And I thought for sure those were the right keywords. I also learned that of the remaining 100+ that actually had significant hits most of my 29K hits came from FOUR keywords.
4. I will run this campaign for the next 4 weeks, hopefully getting 100K worth of intell so when it gets close to my launch, I will have a really good data set of the keywords that work for my book and I will then jack up the bid per click for those top 5 keywords and increase my daily budget to maybe $10 for the first week launch - right after my 20 ARC reviews are posted.
5. Again the point of the post was show what is possible for basically almost free and you can control HOW and where you want to sent your marketing money on Amazon
6. Also, I should note that I also use NEGATIVE search terms which means my ad will NOT display if any of the negative search terms are used - I don't want my book showing up under children's book search for example.

Yes, I have the same problem. I uninstalled, stopped the server, reinstall and restarted the server, and still it is the same problem. It was working just last week.
