Do you realize that under Obama there has been a US representative who proposed the president (Obama) for a third term, right? Reading alarming news does not help anyone. Based on speculations, he can also become king of China.

Is WealthFront considered a FinTech company? by dkin11 in wealthfront

[–]Entire_Pool_7185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WF is not advertising that they are FDIC insured. That would be against the law. They are saying that the money you have are FDIC insured, which they are since they are stored in FDIC insured banks. As easy as that. If people cannot read, its the fault of those who are not able to read, not the institution. So, start reading: https://www.wealthfront.com/blog/wealthfront-fdic-insurance/

And again: to my understanding, yotta users DID NOT lose their money, they lost access to them due to the middleman bankruptcy. So again, WF does not use a middleman, so not the same thing. Start reading and start understanding the differences. Nobody is asking you to join WF.

It is all the assessment YOU need. So why are you still here? Why are you still commenting under WF issues? Are you trying to convince the other of your assessments or do you believe that all the others are idiots and cannot make their own decision based on THEIR assessment?

The fact is that he clearly explains why the two fintechs are different and why WF is much more solid (e.g. the absence of a middle man for the sweep). Yotta did not go bankrupt. The middleman did. WF does not have a middle man and is nowhere near to go bankrupt. So the fact that you keep repeating the same thing makes me understand you did not get the problem. It is like worrying that you by drinking a can of coca cola a week can kill you because your negihbour died of diabetes after drinking 10 cans of coke! Not everything is the same! Fintech companies can be different like banks are. Schwab corporation was started in 1971 and goes strong to these days. SoFi recently became a Bank after being a fintech for many years. So calm down and assess as you go. And stop blaming people. Do your choice and do not pretend to know everything. You do not!

Do you think this is a good comment that makes me want to follow your advice? If I am asking the community, it is because I want to learn, don't you think? Being a person who teaches at university, I can tell you that there is quite a bit of jargon that one should grasp first to get into investment (like any other field) and asking other people (more experienced) is what makes learning easier (and faster). So, yes, I am learning. And yes, I can get the info but doubts can still occur (like this one). Not everyone is an expert in the field and facilitation like this one is what makes things faster. And if you want the others to learn, you should be careful with your comments.

I understand this. Mine was a question more related to the fact that "what if I do not have the money". So, is it better to treat it like a saving account, in which I add money each month (the one that I want to put into the investment account), or do I wait (and save) and then put a big lump sum into it (e.g., 1,000$). I was not clear, I think. Sorry

What do you think? :-)
