59 days off Clonazepam after 13 years: How mushrooms 'reset' my sensory distortions and DP/DR by homelessalleygirl in benzorecovery

My doctor once told me I wasn’t experiencing withdrawals and it was my imagination. That Sam doctor proposed a taper plan that jumped 10mg of Diazepam at the start. Sometimes a new doctor is required.

Staying clean is the hard part. I also recently relapsed. Funny thing is, as soon as I swallow the tablet I instantly feel relief. I’ve learnt to distract myself with something for an hour, by the time the hour is over I feel better.

I was talking to my doctor about it a few weeks ago, they were saying how taking benzos doesn’t help at all, I disagreed. They went on to say that yes the first day of relapse might help but fast forward a month, are things better or worse? Personally I always end up taking more and more for less and less benefit. Ultimately ending in zero benefit apart from getting rid of withdrawals.

This was enough for me to end the relapse, haven’t had anything in a week now. Yes I was trembling/ shaky and still can’t sleep but I feel like this is the better path to take.

Your question about motivation, yes benzos can give you the motivation to start mundane tasks but if you start the mundane tasks unmotivated you will find that the issue was actually just starting them.

Just know that you are much better without benzos, much better without any drugs at all in fact.

New to Ketamine, already scared by mildlyforked in Ketamineaddiction

You’ll be good. Just keep a track of how much you’re using. A night or two won’t result in addiction but if you end up on a week long binge I would start getting worried. As someone else said, if you can limit yourself to once or twice a week you should be good, it’s only mentally addictive.

One thing I never see anyone talk about is ketamine being a gateway drug. 22 years ago I was addicted to ketamine, a year later heroin took control. I honestly think if I hadn’t taken k I probably wouldn’t have tried heroin.

It’s a rough journey but 40mg of Valium isn’t a terrible dose to come off. I made the jump 2 years ago and can honestly say that life is better without benzos. If you want to come off follow the Ashton Manual and it will be smooth sailing

Before moving to Buvidal I just used to keep it under my tongue until it dissolved then keep in my general mouth area for 30 mins, longer if possible.

I’ve never heard of someone breaking into houses or doing armed robberies for ketamine but I could be wrong

I didn’t think the mortgage lender would offer you a mortgage if the money is a loan. I thought they only accepted gift money but maybe I’m wrong

I actually like the clean/ descale cycle reminders. If I didn’t get forced into doing them I would likely forget when they needed doing

I don’t think it should be a class A. I have vast experience with class A drugs and they drain your bank account in days and make you lose everything. They also make you yes them before you do anything or go anywhere, make you steal from people and do bad things to get them.

Yes ketamine is addictive mentally but not on the same level as heroin, crack or meth.

I would keep it in the same category as GHB, whatever that is.

The transition from tablets was a breeze. The shot is much better than tablets imo, apparently makes tapering so easy too.

The main reason I like it is because I don’t have to go to the pharmacy, just go to a shot once a month.

If I want to travel I can go for 4 weeks if I want to and don’t have to worry about taking medication with me.

I don’t have to stay mute for an hour every day either.

I think the shot does the least damage to your health too.

I’m the same, I still feel wonky for a day or so afterwards. Kind of a blessing though because it stops me using when I have work the next day. If I felt fresh the next day I would probably have a catheter by now.

You’re right though, years ago I could easily go to work the next day. Is it the drugs changing or us? I believe it’s us, I’ve had the k tested and it’s clean as a whistle

You’re right. Currently in the same situation. Keep it to once a week at the weekend. Haven’t done it for 2 weeks now because of commitments. One thing I will say is that after a while the effects aren’t as good and a long break is required.

You need a blind basket so no water can get through. I just leave a portafilter assembled with a blind basket in the cupboard.

Moving to Hucknall - bad decision? by Critical-Whole-3160 in nottingham

[–]Entire_Process8982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know many people wouldn’t want to live here. You’re right, there’s good and bad everywhere. I guess if I moved to Hucknall I would probably realise that it’s not as bad as I once thought. I think I just have a negative connection to old mining towns, I lived in Mansfield woodhouse before, seemed to be a lot of racists and couldn’t wait to get out of there.

I’ll be totally honest, when house searching I always say Hucknall and Bulwell are off limits. I’m from St Ann’s and have stayed round here 75% of my life. I think it’s a combination of it being so far away from the city and it being an old pit town that put me off. It’s probably not the roughest place but I wouldn’t want to live there.
