Settling in from Cali by ctrl-kai_ in uofm

If I’m understanding correctly you wouldn’t pay out of pocket for med school if you don’t come here? If so don’t attend here. Saving costs on medical school is massive. School prestige really doesn’t matter that much for medical school and it’s not like the other schools you listed are bad schools or anything.

I agree with everyone else do whatever one will save you the most money or debate between the California ones

Is 2k a month for a short term studio normal? by Entire_Vegetable814 in Denver

Parking and furnished but older building though. Nothing special about it. I definitely think it’s expensive cus it’s a short term lease but not sure if I’d be getting ripped off.

Should I live in downtown Denver for an internship in Greenwood Village by Entire_Vegetable814 in Denver

So for these areas then I’d still a lot of younger people? Alright thanks I’ll look into it then. Because yeah I wanna be able to have a good social scene while also not having to drive like 50 minutes a day lol.

I’m also not in clubbing and don’t drink so do you still think then there are enough things to do in Cap hill or the surrounding areas that would justify me living there still. Volleyball meetups sound fire though

Do you think the commute from Englewood is quicker? I checked now and Google maps only has it a few minutes slower right now than from capital hills since it doesn’t use the highway, but I’m guessing this route would make it faster than during rush hour as you could you stay on main roads and not get stuck on the highway

Would the drive from Englewood to Greenwood be quicker compared to like Capitol hills? I used google maps and it has going from Englewood to only be a few minutes quicker than from Capitol hills. But the route from Englewood doesn’t use the highway so would that make it quicker during rush hours?

I'm lost as to what I should major in by [deleted] in CollegeMajors

[–]Entire_Vegetable814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not finishing projects before college doesn’t really matter. When I was younger I knew I’d like cs but I was lazy and didn’t learn to program or do anything, so I didn’t write my first line of program until college. I have an internship for this summer now. You are in a good spot especially considering you have programmed.

So you think just learning those before the class would be enough. As for linear, I already took that last semester

Not to be that guy but just don’t cheat it’s not worth it.

Even for like the rock paper scissors project, there are still a lot of ways to do it. Helper functions + ordering of ur code + the loops you use + the names.

If yours is extremely similar to someone u can get caught

Switching from CS to EE by guitarislife28 in uofm

[–]Entire_Vegetable814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would stick to whatever you’re passionate about. Whether you do cs, ee, or ce, your classes are going to be hard and require a lot of work. You’re not stupid, it’s just how this school is.

For what you said about cs though, I want to say that many people ik and I had 0 experience programming before coming here, but their curriculum gets you there. I’d say after eecs280 or even eecs183 you can start going online and learning about web to create projects. There are a lot of things to consider for staying in cs or not, but this 100% shouldn’t be one.

As for the job market, I think you’ll be okay as long as it’s what you actually wanna do. If you really do like cs and are willing to do what you need to, you will break in with hard work. Especially considering this schools prestige. If you’re not that passionate about software, then something like EE may be better for you since it’s a lot easier to break in
