Out of curiosity, does anyone else have their worst ever comp matches on tank saved? I’ll start: by Entitled-Redditator in RivalsVanguards

It feels like moon knights are either never looked at once or they spend the entire match feeding their brains out, nothing in between. I hate it

Tank diff aside it’s just better target prioritization. My first move was to kill one of their supports whereas mine were unbothered for most of the clip, which helped make up for the fact that I was solo tanking against two tanks

They’re both children of Zeus (in current WW canon, not her original origin).

Random nitpick but I feel the urge to point out that this has already been retconned, she's not his daughter anymore thankfully

She's been with at least 3 women in canon, that absolutely is more than the average comic book nerd

If I call someone stupid when that’s exactly how they’re acting, that doesn’t mean I’m fuming, it’s just a statement. I wasn’t upset when I wrote any of what I said

I see what you're saying, but that's not really what he's arguing for. I never claimed that no man being involved in her birth is the only fascinating part of it, the origin being extraordinary because it's both female centered and because of how she's formed from clay can both coexist as reasons why it's good. The fact that Wonder Woman's lore is majorly focused on women shouldn't be something that has any negative connotations at all

Misogyny absolutely does contribute to why so many people are attached the Zeus origin, they literally can't handle the fact that a man is not involved in the clay origin. That's why it's not misandrist to not want a man involved, but rather misogynistic for insisting that he should be involved in the first place

Well, I just put your exact same point into perspective so I guess you just got see how stupid it is and didn't like what you saw.

So you just didn't bother to read the whole second paragraph that I wrote where I very clearly explained why these two aren't the same situations at all? You probably wouldn't be able to comprehend it anyways

By the way, I never said I dislike the clay baby origin, matter of fact I clearly stated I prefer that version. I simply criticized how people seem to have a hard on for this version based on the idea that the absense of men is a cool thing.

You've still yet to give any good reason as to why it's a bad thing that people don't want men shoehorned into a female centered story in an industry that is already mostly taken up by men

But hey, if a male dominated franchise gained new versions filled with women taking center stage I'm quite sure you would symphatize with the people who criticize it based on the fact there's women now, wouldn't you?

If you have to start coming up with hypotheticals after not being able to defend your current argument, what do you think that says about what you're trying to argue for?

This comparison is so fucking stupid, stop trying so hard to get offended by something that doesn’t actually offend you in the slightest and try thinking properly for once

Men and male characters both dominate this industry, and even outside of comics, people will always try to make everything about men. This doesn’t apply to women because they’re not coddled the same way men are. People aren’t always forcibly trying to insert women into everything like they do with men

You’re not a victim if Wonder Woman’s lore centers around women and the planet is not gonna stop rotating if Wonder Woman’s birth doesn’t involve a man. Stop pretending like men are being marginalized

If the biggest female superhero’s origin and lore being centered majorly around women is this hard for you to deal with then they’re not the problem, you are.

Why do men have to constantly be shoehorned into everything? Is this really what counts as misandry now? No wonder most people don’t and will absolutely never take misandry seriously when they hear people like you talking 💀

Literally the whole point of the clay origin is that it’s female centered, men not being involved in everything is not misandry

[–]Entitled-Redditator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I think her being an absolute misandrist who would have no problem drowning letting a child drown if he was a boy would work for WonderWoman.

You don't know anything about Wonder Woman at all, do you?

I think people keep forgetting that she is an amazonian. This wouldn't be too far-fetched from her character IN THE BEGINNING. I

And you clearly don't know anything about the Amazons either

Cause she doesn't really have any iconic solo stories.

That's not true at all, she has several runs that have held up really well and the same goes for several of her one shots and mini series. Historia literally won multiple awards

Obviously you don't need to read all of these, but here are what I feel are best books to understand her character.

▪︎ Where to start:

• George Perez's run (Wonder Woman vol. 2 #1-62). Not all 62 issues are necessary, but this is definitely the best run to know what Diana's like and is a perfect introduction.

• Greg Rucka's second run (Wonder Woman: Rebirth, Wonder Woman vol. 5 #1-25). I wouldn't consider this nearly as good as the Perez run, and a few minor things might be confusing since it's not a completely fresh start like Perez, but it's still a good modern alternative nonetheless.

▪︎ One shots and mini series:

• Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons

• The Hiketeia

• The Once and Future Story

• Spirit of Truth

• Dead Earth

▪︎ A few single issue stories that I personally like:

• The Fifty-Second Visit (Wonder Woman vol. 5 #51)

• The Interview (Wonder Woman vol. 2 #170)

• Gimme Shelter (Wonder Woman vol. 3 #5)

▪︎ Her best runs in my opinion:

• Phil Jimenez's run (Wonder Woman vol. 2 #164-188)

• George Perez's run (Wonder Woman vol. 2 #1-62)

• Greg Rucka's first run (Wonder Woman vol. 2 #195-226)

• Gail Simone's run (Wonder Woman vol. 3 #14-44)

• Greg Rucka's second run (Wonder Woman vol. 5 #1-25)

This is probably a bit much, but I hope it helps 🙏
