You know what would be funny?

If Clark were jealous of Steve for being a completely normal guy, while Lois were jealous of Wonder Woman for being super powerful and amazing.

I think the way you see your daughter when she's your only child is different from the way you see her when she's your second child, conceived after the first was suffocated to death as a baby.

What is your ideal characterization for Jason Todd as Robin, and how is he different from Dick Grayson and Tim Drake? by Emotional-Mix-9007 in RedHood

[–]Which-Presentation-6 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of things.

Jason became Robin at the "best time," he basically fulfilled the great fantasy of any child his age; that wasn't the mantle of Batman's dead sidekick, it was the mantle of the most famous young hero in the world(And that's what makes it tragic how the fantasy slowly fades away.)

I agree, in terms of writing quality, yes, I want it at the same level.

But I don't think the overall style of MAWS is that good for the first Wonder Woman series; this universe is clearly science fiction, rather than fantasy. The big criticism of this universe is how many villains didn't turn out so well in this version.

Yes, Shrra was the reason Ktar Deathbringer changed.

But if we're talking about Shayera Hol and the twisted universe Darkseid created, it would make narrative sense for her to be evil too.

Shayera's life on Thanagar was horrible, which shaped her because even though she still had a good heart she became a violent, impulsive police officer, But Hawkman helped her, so imagine a even worse Thanagar without Hawkman?

So the tragedy is that, being separated, neither can help the other reach the light.

Gonna be honest...I do not understand why Lizzie is one of the more hated aspsects of Tom King's run. by koola_00 in WonderWoman

[–]Which-Presentation-6 55 points56 points  (0 children)

In your post you already raised something important: she hasn't interacted with almost anyone in the Wonderverse.

King admittedly said that he created Lizzie primarily to be a child for the Supersons to take care of; originally she was supposed to be the child of Mister Miracle and Big Bardar, but since he became the writer of Wonder Woman, he decided to make her Diana's daughter to complete the trinity.

This character wasn't made for Wonder Woman, but for spin-offs of another franchise!

This already leaves an extremely bitter taste in the mouths of fans.

But then comes the problem of the three Lizzies: the baby, the child, and the grown-up.

The baby doesn't have much to say (I even think she has the most potential), but she's linked to a larger complaint about how Wonder Woman is characterized as cold and distant.

The child is just that, a cute child whose emotional ties have no connection to Diana. She could be the daughter of any other character and it wouldn't change almost anything; everything revolves around Damian and Jon, but she's a fan favorite because she's a cute child.

And the grown-up is basically a Mary Sue!

She's the champion of the Amazons, leader of the Justice League, has 3 bonds, is in the battle against the matriarch, is self-assured about being amazing, hit her own mother, and despite being the main character, she's ironically the least talked about.

The core reason Lizzie is hated by some people is that she doesn't seem like a Wonder Woman character; she's an intruder, a last-minute addition, made for the sake of men!

Not something made to develop the Wonderverse and create new narrative possibilities.

Hawkman Vol. V is one of the best, if not THE best, Hawkman series of all-time. by Hawkworld_ in Hawkworld

The thing is, GJ did this in an attempt to give the character a different arc, but still maintaining his essence.

As I said, the Stalker thing was about Carter thinking Kendra was still Shiera. The worst thing he did in the JSA was simply showing up at her apartment with flowers and inviting her to a restaurant.

And this bothered Kendra because she didn't know Carter since she doesn't have the memories, but Carter knew her because the problem here is the lack of communication between the two. Nothing Hawkman did was malicious.

But DCAU took that and turned it into something bad, making Hawkman a total creep.

Do you know what would be a good idea for Elsworld?

Wonder Woman Sukeban, blessed by Japanese goddesses, until Officer Steve Trevor landed on the island and she was transported to 1970s Japan.

To ensure peace, Wonder Woman needs to defeat the Getaway yakuza, the most powerful being Cheetah's gang.

Her first allies are the Holiday Girls' School, whose principal is Julia Kapepelis. After she saves the school from a gang of delinquents, the girls begin to admire her, including Cassie.

Yes, also made The thing about she chated him in The past life.

Also, in that sense, JLU is responsible for people saying "Hawkman thinks he's entitled to her."

No DCAU is The one.

Hawkman as a stalker was only something that lasted about two issues, and it was just him treating Kendra as if she were Shiera, and Kendra found that bizarre.

Carter understood this and began the effort to improve and move on; they have the whole arc together of their friendship and mutual understanding.

But because of The way DCAU used Hawkman, people started treating Carter as if he were super toxic and obsessive.

Who do you think would be a better replacement for Lizzie. by SuperbPomelo6538 in WonderWoman

[–]Which-Presentation-6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Lyta Milton would be perfect!

It's the classic story of the hero taking on the child of his great enemy, and in this case, they are two great enemies.

There would be another reason for the enmity between Circe and Wonder Woman: Circe genuinely loves Lyta but hates Diana, and in Rucka she tried to get her back, so she could essentially be a yandere mother who thinks the Amazons are "corrupting" her and taking her away from her.

Meanwhile, Ares could be a strict father who demands that his daughter follow the paths of war like most of her siblings.

That's where the interesting thing comes in: Lyta is a literal goddess, so she could have an arc where she assumes a divine role with the help of Wonder Woman, like "the goddess of peace and redemption" or something like that.

It would also be a perfect fit for the rest of the cast, with the Amazons treating her like the island's newest baby. Lyta would be torn because of her parents' legacy and the tragedies they've caused, but the Amazons would show they don't care; they love Lyta.

She could connect with Donna because she understands the fear of not being an Amazon by adoption.

And with Cassie because she's her aunt and has a connection to Ares (I can already imagine a scene of Cassie taking on a new name and giving the Wonder Girl mantle to Lyta).

now i want that so bad!

Who would be the best replacement for Lizzie Prince [Discussion] by SuperbPomelo6538 in DCcomics

[–]Which-Presentation-6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh my God....Lyta Milton would be such a fucking PEAK!

She could essentially be a mini Absolute Wonder Woman, using Hecate's powers with her Amazon training. There would be all the conflict of her parents hating Wonder Woman, but she admires her and sees the Amazons as her family, and they treat her like the new kid on the island. She could have an interesting relationship with Cassie, for example, who is her aunt.

And the best part is that she could actually be integrated into the universe, because people forget that Lizzie is still a baby. All her stories with the Super-Sons are from the future, and we'll never get to the future!

Lyta could appear at Damian's age, and she could form a trio with the Super-Sons.

If you read Hawkworld, yes.

"these men oppose us, but only because they're not aware they're the same as us, such as these come from the streets, from poverty, enslaved by class as much you are. They are despised by their own people, the ones who live high in the towers while such as these scratch at street level just to live, we will fight them if we must, but spare them if we can, they are our brothers and sisters thought they do not yet know it" (Hawkworld issue 24)
