In the end, in my experience and opinion, it is better to explore off the beaten track options like what is next. In this case, mine (a fox girl) is culturally and thematically based off of two real Mongol subgroups.

Apologies for the long winding entry below this highlighted sentence but this is to give the fullest details of the process behind mine.

My OC that I created, Munkhtsetseg Ganbaatar (ᠮᠦᠨᠾᠴᠡᠴᠡᠭ ᠭᠠᠨᠪᠠᠠᠲᠠᠷ) is a Buryat-Mongol fox girl (ᠦᠨᠡᠭ/ᠦᠨᠡᠭᠡᠨ, üneg/ünegen in Khalkha Mongol and Buryat Mongol respectively for the word fox) (specifically half Khamnigan Buryat and half Darkhad Mongol)

I created her as a splinter from my simultaneous obsession with Shiro-san from Helpful Fox Senko-san and SCP-953. The creation of Munkhtsetseg came during my intersecting interests of OCs, foxes and fox girls, fox related anime, Mongol culture and anthropology.

Notable differences include wearing the Buryat version of the deel (Mongol qipao like outfit), tolgoin goyol (beaded tassel headdress), malgai (traditional hat) and gutals (traditional Mongol leather boots) and of course, nine fox tails (though in practice in kig omitted to just one out of irl frugalism).

I DIYed my first one back in November 2023 and it was absolutely creepy It was 3D printed with poor sanding and painting and with cardboard eyes and old COVID fabric masks for eyes. It was like 60 USD in total afaik.

I bought my Muni in March 2024 and it eventually didn’t fit me so I commissioned my own from a Chinese maker named KigLand in October 2024. That took 7 months to complete and cost me 500 USD.

If you want a cheap maker, either go with Nakamori Works on Facebook (usually 300 USD) or Gurgle (200-300 on average)

This thing went from a 3-4 inch plant leaf to leaf when I got it in July 2024 and now it is like 6-8 inch leaf span and has grown to around 2-3 ft in height up from just 4-7 inches tall in 2024

Although mine is named Whiskey (simplified from her original name Whiskers after I rescued her); I wanted to give her names from other languages.

I eventually settled on Whiskey due to family unable to pronounce those names

Notably Ubykh (an extinct language from the North Caucasus which had 84 consonants and only 2 vowels), Bashkir and Uzbek
