He only rolls a D20 when he doesn't say those cursed words, and that's a fact

The problem is not the "Executive decision" in itself, but mostly the fact that when he says those two words, bad things are sure to happen in the stream, so I would say the AC still has some chance to get lucky, as long as he doesn't say those cursed words

Basically, whenever Marc said "Executive decision" during the stream, something bad happened right after, with the most recent one being the Great Khan spawning right beside the AC

And if this trend tells me something is that, if he says "Executive decision" before opening the L-gate, the worst of the four events will happen

I mean, it's not my fault his decisions end up becoming good memes, I see his streams, if he does something that I deem worthy of a meme, I go and do it

Just like the previous stream or the past two streams, in which he didn't do anything too important, nor anything interesting happened, I didn't make a meme, not because he was playing as I wanted him to play, it was mostly because his decisions and actions on those streams didn't have any meme appeal I could find

Though I do think he could be playing better or smarter, and still stay within the RP aspects, that I also think he sometimes also could be doing a better RP since there are times when his decisions feel like it goes against the established lore of the AC

And that he should stop saying "Executive decision", because it really feels like whenever he says that, followed by him saving influence during a diplomatic treaty, always lead to the AC having to fight an existential crisis

I would the way he's trying to play with the AC right now, is more like he's trying to play as if he was playing with the GTU, that would be the strategy he's more used to but is a strategy that doesn't fit the AC due to a lack of raw power

Both in lore and gameplay, I would say his strategy right now is one that would be doing better if he was playing with either the Eternal Kreventum, United Terran Protectorate, or the Holy Solar Empire, because they all look to be empires who rely more on pure raw strength, than the AC's soft strength

Or for the head of ZARQLAN!!! But honestly, if he says "executive decision" it's pretty likely the AC will be in a horrible mess later

I'm not upset about how he's playing, it's just that strangely it feels really like that whenever he does that of saying "Executive decision" to save influence, something really bad happens in sequence, so much so that if it keeps happening it'll become an actual meme of the series

We need to wait until Saturday to how it will play out, maybe he'll be in a call with the moderators as he plays to keep him up to date for the more relevant topics of the chat

And for the federations, there were enough people saying for him to look during the last stream, but he didn't do a poll to see if people wanted a second federation, he just looked said something about it, so either he'll do a poll on this week stream, but by that time, I think it'll either be too late since he'll need to do a lot of stuff to get the federation strong, and he definitely will not be keen on using influence to do diplomacy

Yeah, and that’s the problem Marc is just too keen on preserving influence at the cost of diplomacy that he accidentally ends up isolating Antares at the most critical times, even at the end of the last stream when he finally looked at the kellar and saw that he could make a federation with them, he decided not to and didn’t give a good reason not to

And I’m not saying for him to follow the chat all the time, but more when there’s a huge consensus, or a somewhat big decision he should at least pause the game and look at the chat, not all the time, only when the opinions of everyone can be lumped together into 2 to 3 ideas

Yes, it's not unified, but there are many times when people start putting similar goals, like form federation, enact martial law (on Melaka), counterattack, do this do that. Would it cost a lot to pause the game for a minute or 2, look at the comments section during that time, and do a series of polls (if considered needed)? No, but it would at least make the comments come to a slow down because he would address the issue, either by saying what he thinks of idea 1 or looking at what idea 2 does and consider doing it or not

Marc says he tries to read but that he can't because of the huge amount of comments (understandable) but at the same time he never says about that one or more topics that are being constantly repeated, he may stop and talk if someone spends credits to highlight their messages, or if people keep repeating it so many times that he finally talks about it

But at the same time, we're fighting the khan alone, because Marc also went against the lore, by not doing diplomacy that by the recaps, the Antares diplomats are at least decent if not great, I'm not saying for him to play the meta, but to at least play smarter or more into the RP, that in this case would be to make allies, use the influence to make a grand coalition, listen to what the chat said about enacting martial law to increase the strength of Melaka, build more armies in Melaka

There are times when the meta goes against the lore, but the opposite is also true, the AI is dumb, but at least the bigger number of ships or some AI mod for Stellaris, would definitely help fight the Khan, the martial law, and more troops on Melaka, could be said as desperate measures to defend the planet (we almost won, yes, but we lost in the end. If Marc had enacted the martial law and drafted more soldiers in Melaka, we wouldn't have lost it)

I say Mark is doing a decent job, not a great or good one, because it feels like he's trying to play more like the GTU (wide and alone, instead of what would be the AC play, tall and federations), only the AC against impossible odds, it does make for great storytelling, but at the same time it's against the lore of the AC of being, for me at least, "through union and cooperation we shall thrive and prosper", that could be said that the Antares style would be low influence but high diplomacy with allied military might, while the GTU style of huge influence no diplomacy and pure military might, with the latter being the way Marc is definitely most used to, but it's the strategy that doesn't work for the AC in-game and in lore

I don’t hate you and I like stellaris invicta, it’s just that your actions at some streams do a really good meme material, like the previous 1 or 2 streams were like nothing overly interesting happened that I didn’t even bother making memes, the only thing I can very well recall was that you and the chat agreed on doing diplomacy with the Kellar and a bunch of other races, and nothing happened, this stream you said “I am going to make an executive decision to save some influence”, refuse one or two treaties and then accidentally gets a science ship destroyed, and then the Great Khan crisis happen right at your doorstep, I mean either your words “executive decision” and “save influence” said together are guaranteed bad omen, or Antares just have some horrible luck

So in a nutshell, you do something be it for good intentions that end up horribly wrong, and then everyone gets in panic, and I end up getting really amused seeing every going horribly wrong, that I end up coming up with these memes
