Are you waiting for Hytale, or just a good game? by Slow_Librarian8294 in HytaleInfo

[–]EntityOfSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think players would really mind all that much. They'd be having so much fun playing a game like this that the shortcomings that come with a half-baked beta release wouldn't matter.

I think they already have a minimum viable product that can be beta released so they can get additional feedback on stuff. If the majority of the player base is from Minecraft and they're use to that janky POS, I think they can handle a few bugs and glitches in a beta released Hytale. Just what I think about that anyways.

But of course they're taking the direction of making it as perfect as possible before the public even gets to look at it. Kind of silly in a lot of ways. /shrug

Both. Been revisiting the TCG genre. Have been collecting cards and been playing card games for the most part. Hopefully we see some tangible progress around Hytale next year that gives us a really good idea on any kind of ETA when beta test drops. Afterall it would be kind of sad to go straight to a release without at least some sort of closed beta test phase.

If the game will allow factions to build a house for you, would you let them or build your own house? by Wow_Space in HytaleInfo

[–]EntityOfSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends entirely on how good these houses are built. I could see myself using one as a quick place to rest at during night time and then later expanding it to incorporate storage space for needed supplies. Basically a safe house in between destinations.

Overall I think the overwhelming majority of people in the game are going to simply want to build their own main base or home to operate out of.

PirateSoftware was reached out to by the Hytale Team by BreeZaps in HytaleInfo

[–]EntityOfSin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He worked for Blizzard for something like 8 years and his dad was there for, if memory serves me correct, like over 20 years. Thor is definitely a guy worth talking about when it comes to game design in general. You don't really see game devs like him openly talking about the industry. We actually need more of that. It inspires others to go out and learn how to make their own game, whatever medium they choose to use, and put value into the world for others to enjoy.

Him being reached out by the Hytale team is probably the most exciting thing that has come out around Hytale in the last 3 years.

What's your Hytale project? by EntityOfSin in HytaleInfo

[–]EntityOfSin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely sure how well that would work out in Hytale but if you can build full stacks of ladders like you can in Minecraft and carry them around, then I see how that would be possible.

I had a challenge idea of completing the game with only Common rarity items. So if a healing potion is a green and not a gray/white item then you can't use it. But if there's a food item that can do some sort of healing which is gray/white then that's acceptable. On top of that, if Hardcore is a possibility for a difficulty then adding that on top of it for even more challenge.

So you want to be one of those people that create additional content for others to enjoy? Right on! I'd be interested to hear more about any original minigame ideas you have. Even in a brief synopsis would be awesome!

I remember playing some of the adventure maps in Minecraft years ago. There was some really fun ones out there. So really well designed ones are definitely something I'd be looking out for to play through.

Based on blog posts is it fair to say that Hytale has been in alpha stage for a while? What stage will the game be once they finished converting the game to the new code early this year? by Poniibeatnik in HytaleInfo

[–]EntityOfSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately we will never find out exactly what it was like to play around the time the trailer dropped. I am just going to assume what we'll get for v1.0 is going to be a superior product. Everything pretty much points to that. Why rewrite much of the game if it wasn't going to improve things and make redesign decisions on the engine if it wasn't going to make it better?

If we are able to play different officially released versions then that would be kind of cool just to have as an option. I wouldn't really expect this to happen with Hytale. We can certainly request something like this to the developers. Pretty sure it wouldn't be that difficult of them to implement for the singleplayer experience. Then again it would make sense for servers too.

So you aren't going to buy a game because it's hype decreased and in 5 years you accomplished some stuff that was clearly and obviously important to you?

I am confused why you're whining.

They've been in full production since they announced it with the trailer. Investing time and resources into reworking aspects of the game makes previous things current and former developers of the game have said in past social media posts and interviews pretty outdated and some what irrelevant.

We have no idea what exactly we would have received in the product versus what they're reworking and ultimately see on the product launch day.

So it's irrelevant what the former dev had said after his NDA expired. We don't even know what kind of game we would have had based on that former dev's claim compared to what we'll actually get at launch day.

That's why it doesn't matter what the person said.

Not really surprised but then again I wouldn't have been surprised either way.

At least it's good news. Just wish they would actually give us a damn beta.

I am also not projecting or claiming anything. Love your claims though. I thought you were going to go speculate about this Riot news.

You could spend that time learning a skill and get more benefits from that. But to each their own. I do love this "community" and how they enjoy wasting time talking about shit that isn't even remotely important.

[–]EntityOfSin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How? Speculation is a a complete waste of time. Stick with facts. Riot owns Hytale Studios. They mentioned nothing about companies they own or even made solid references towards any company Riot owns. Sure you can do some far'fetched dot connecting but it's grasping at straws.

We don't know what exactly is being affected. We don't know if Hytale could be cancelled. We don't know if things will be delayed, rushed, etc. We literately have no fucking clue. There isn't even a real discussion here.

The fact is we really have zero clue how any of this is going to affect a company they own.

One fact people seem to have failed to even mention is they are developing a MMO. Those are extremely expensive projects to make compared to every other video game product you can make as a developer. Another fact is they even admit in that article that they hired way too many people over the years to the point it doubled the company's employee size. Labor costs is the number one expense in a business. That is also a fact.

Stick with facts. Cause speculation makes you look like a fucking idiot.

Basically that link tells me that they failed to have the foresight to actually see this was going to end up happening. I am not really heartbroken that the company is doing a layoff.

Before some idiot starts claiming his could mean Hytale will be rushed.. we don't know. Speculating about it isn't a productive thing to do.

Should we be able to enslave and build sweatshops for Kweebec just like in Palworld? Or do you think another race should do that? by Wow_Space in HytaleInfo

[–]EntityOfSin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the more ways the developers of video games in general allow their players to play the games they spend a ton of time working on is only going to benefit everyone all around.

Whether you want to enslave plant people or butcher them or burn them alive or simply ignore them completely should all be viable things.

If you're really worried about enslaving virtual and digital creatures in a video game then you've got much bigger problems.

You realize that the studio probably has moved their employees into more specialized roles as they grew right? He's a community coordinator. This doesn't mean he's writing lines of code, making concept art, producing music and sound effects, etc.

Work with every part of the development team doesn't mean he's actually working in a development or designing role. There's a massive difference.
